Gogol Bordello in Madrid was pretty cool.  The Shins were good when I saw them in Omaha.  But really, in my opinion, the best shows are always in someone's basement.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

my first concert was Ringo Starr's All Star band, with Jack Bruce, Gary Brooker, Todd Rundgren, and i think Peter Frampton was there too. I was ten at the time, so seeing them play "White Room" for 45 minutes straight was a bit too much for me

Gogol Bordello in Madrid was pretty cool.  The Shins were good when I saw them in Omaha.  But really, in my opinion, the best shows are always in someone's basement.
First thing I thought when I clicked on this thread was Gogol Bordello.
I've seen them twice at the Big Easy/Knitting Factory in Boise and neither time did they disappoint. They definitely put on one of the best live shows.
Some other good shows I saw at the same venue were Megadeth's Rust in Peace tour and The Faceless/3 Inches of Blood/Between the Buried and Me/In Flames. I saw Ted Nugent there and that was..... interesting to say the least.
Also I saw Devildriver/Soilwork/Killswitch Engage/Lamb of God in Salt Lake three years ago. That was really fun also.
I was lucky enough to be in Europe on a trip when the big four of thrash metal went there for their tour this past summer, so I went to that and it was pretty good, but too many people and they had this "special inner circle" thing that people paid more for to get close, so it was kind of lame but also really cool see see Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica all at one show after i'd seen them separate before and it was cool to see Anthrax for the first time and a few of the other bands there.
And the best show I've been to, for a big band, was Iron Maiden in Seattle two years ago on their Somewhere back in time tour, that was fucking epic.
I've been to other good shows but those are the best I can think of right now.

Broken Social Scene with special guest Jay Mascis.
Built to Spill with the most beautiful woman; making out to the ender song with her to what was coincidentally our favorite song, "Carry the Zero."
Bob Dylan just because I saw him while he's alive.
Deer Tick playing every song on their repertoire for 4 hours, making me miss the bus, but it was a fucking no-waste-of-effort show on their part.
Happiness Project/Do Make Say Think. Also so much heart in their set, with funny crowd banter and appreciation. Good to see that.

Top three I want to see before kicking it:

Tom Waits, Modest Mouse, Belle & Sebastian.

Damn that must have been quite the show.

LCD Soundsystem at the Hollywood Bowl was super sick. Came across Spike Jonze while standing in line for beer.

Roger Waters headlining  the last night at Coachella a few years ago was the greatest show I've been to. Played all of Dark Side of the Moon as well as all my other favorites. I'm psyched to see him again in about a week when he performs The Wall.

Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, Pixies are some of my other highlights.

Ahwww.....seen so much....

Marcus Miller - fucking, fucking, all these guys on the stage were pure masters of their instruments
Parliament-Funkadelic - The same as Miller, 'cept more funky PLUS they have the hottest female vocalletes
Some other jazz shows I always forget who it was
TOOL - I could only just observe and soak it up, just knocked me off my feet

The Prodigy - Fuck, that was the sickest. When that song "smack my bitch up" goes into the bridge, when the woman voice sings, EVERY FUCKING ONE on the festival field sat down on their knees. Seriously like 10 to 20 thousand people or more, whatever. And when that beat drops into that shit.....everyone went fucking bananas. It was crazy, like a damn religious experience. Damn.

Also, one of my friends plays in this band called Wet T-shirt Contest, they funk it up and get your chest wet.
