The fence is up surrounding Pulaski. They have a permit until mid-May for fountain-related repairs, but they have been ripping up the steps already. We'll see how this unfolds and if they take out the main ledge. It's only been two weeks so far.

Anyways with Pulaski, there was a plan to pretty much remodel lots of Pennsylvania Ave. But with the 250 year anniversary of the United States, they're trying to make some things "nicer" I guess.

Here is a document of the contract-related stuff. So far, they've torn up some stairs. But they have never knobbed any national park service controlled spots in the city, so unless they tear the ledge out it should be okay. I'm sure Park Police presence will be increased either way once it's open.

Thanks for this info. That's a shame but it has to be completed by 7/4/26 for the parade. I pity the fool that finna hop that fence and skate in this politically militarized climate.

I also saw they had Malcom X park fenced off to fix the fountains. Is this going to make them unskateable even during the winter months when they turn off the water like they used to? Same with the Pulaski fountain, wonder if it's still going to be skateable and if they're only replacing the steps that had heavy grind marks/were chipping down from slappys?

Also where are all these skateshops coming from? Kinda funny that in the past 10 years the city has seen like 6 different shops go in and out, hoping the best for em, city deserves a longstanding shop.

I know the team behind Archives. Their plans for the shop went into motion immediately following Crushed shutting down. Took them a good while to find a space, they wanted to find something ground level in a decent foot traffic area. The main dude behind Archives was involved in helping Crushed for a good while, has also helped other shops behind the scenes. He decided it was time to do it for himself. Just need this weather to break over here so people can be outside more and skating. He's adding accounts almost daily and bringing in new product. A few brands and distros wouldn't open the account until the doors were open, minor hurdles. He opened the shop for the right reasons, he's not in it to make a profit or be the cool guy shop.

Archives def is in a good spot, sister too honestly. Maybe competition is good. I wonder who’s gonna get/want the Nike contract. Is that still good in 2026? I remember last days of crushed I would go in and it’s 50 pairs of Nikes of the wall and one board maybe some trucks or wheels. But I also remember being at Vu when them fours came out and the phone wouldn’t stop ringing.

Wishing both success could see both with there own indenty, will be cool to see who rocks with/skates for who. Optimistic for a good year

Apparently Trump was the one who was complaining. It's interesting. The motorcade always goes past the plaza so maybe he saw skaters or something and didn't like it? Idk

If you look at one of the most recent posted comments in Jimmy's post, the dude with the groundhog(?) profile pic sounds like one of the park employee who has been working on site and seems like mostly cosmetic fixes are being done.

Powerwashed the wax off ledges, marble on steps/ledges being replaced and drilled in skate stoppers, finishing next month.

Easy fix hopefully to get back to normal.

And now Sister just announced they got the Nike goods too, glad to see these brand new shops get established pretty quickly .

But those knobs across that sacred marble at the plaza hurts the soul, we all know orange won't last as long as those things. Just gotta be patient and hope we can re-claim the parks!

The plaza, yeah it’s dumb. I was watching some Stevie Williams doc ln and kalis was talking bout when they used to beg them to go skate love park. That’s what I want, the city to get fucked so bad they beg us to go skate the park. Or some knobbed clips.

Wanted to chime in as the owner of archives. We had a solid line this morning, good turnout for a first release. Excited to be carrying SB early on, alongside every other brand that launched with us. If anyone is from the DMV and needs anything, just let me know.
