Danny Aiello and Robert Loggia look way more similar than I realized.

Did the girl at the end of Gonz’s video days part ever find out that she was in such an important video? What was the story behind her appearance anyway?

Among other things.

Chris Athens. I feel like it’s a fault in the culture he’s not on Krooked. You see that fucking lift bump to box kickflip? That shit was Gonzo as fuuuuuuuhhhh. I fucking love that guys style.

Furthermore, I don’t know if I have like a GX bias on the algorithm but it appears that he stays filming too. I like that. More power to um

How do snowboarders film consecutive parts like that? I feel like Rated R just came out and now half the team is in the new Videograss. Jed was popping when i was in middle school how do his knees still work? Does adidas still have a boot program seems they skipped this season?

Do other people state the name of every trick they see in their head? I figured everyone did but just heard otherwise and also then realized it's a bit much

Have you seen soccer lately? I was ordering a fucking 3wsy earlier and I looked up at the screen. Every player looked like the money for nothing music video characters. Everyone in the fucking restaurant was busy, staring at their phones anyway. I had to giggle. wtf is going on?

I’m thinking it’s a slow balanced switch nose grind. Backs only tho. Like when we had nicer ledges so it goes but slow

If I paused every trick before they popped their tail in a video like Sorry, Yeah Right, Misled Youth, Mosaic, Sight Unseen or any bigger video from that era, I could probably name every single trick or tricks in that line. That feels somewhat impressive yet absolutely useless as a skill and maybe more sad that I've watched all those videos 50+ times throughout my life.

On a similar note, I kinda hate when I can predict the trick based on a roll up on my first time watching a vid. Sometimes it's just obvious someone is about to do a 180 switch crook and I hate it. But sometimes if it's a tasteful trick it hits extra nice too

I don't think that's sad at all. You wouldn't consider knowing every word and tune to your favorite songs sad, would you? Not every skill has to have some practical utility or ulterior purpose to serve. It's enough to just know or do stuff for its own sake, that's very much part of the human condition.

I'll try not to go to far off topic but I think this is part of something bigger than just skateboarding for many people aged like 25-50. Were the main age group that had media in our homes (as in videos we could rewatch) but at the same time were very limited by the amount so the few videos, cds, video games etc we did have we would just watch on repeat until they're permanently stuck in the back of our brains.
I can do the same thing with skate videos but then it's the same with certain movies and shows and during pandemic I even dug out the old Nintendo and it's like oh somehow without touching it in decades I just know exactly how to finish every game.

Today I was humbled by a random teen at the park I was skating.

Not by their skills on the board, but of.

My axel nut was stripped, to the point i could (had to) tighten it with my fingers for the wheel to stay on.
I was quite literally about to leave when I asked this kid who was sitting at the yellow picnic table if he had an extra nut.
He said no, but he had something that might help - plumbers tape!
That shit held my axel nut on for the next thirty minutes I skated.

I would have never thought of that.

It was cool and have pondered about it multiple times an hour since.

I want a live action show that’s like a cross between hardcore henry and æon flux.
It would contain zero talking by the pov character. They die every week and come back. In the end you’re more machine than whatever humanoid species is chosen.
So there could be a Star Wars element. Short stories long shots. That’s a fucking scifi series.
No slow awkward Netflix dialog spots. Just continuous movement. Like hardcore Henry.

Or I wish someone would just edit down all the fucking Netflix series is into movies. I’d like to edit that shit myself. I wish I still had a Mac.
I’d like to fix.  3 body body problem has wat to much bloat. Cook that garb pow shit into a nice ass base ball. Throw some lemon juice on it in the form of better tunes for more experienced tastes.

To myself:

"I wonder how many incels could have avoided radicalization if they just picked up skateboarding? Like how many children's lives could have been saved if dudes focused on learning tre flips instead of getting laid and fucking around with AR's? The world may never know."

"Does Loke Rahbek fuck with Nazis? I've seen some questionable Damien Dubrovnik performances. Sure, Marion, but it comes with the territory. Didn't he back Iceage though? Don't they have a song called "White Rune"? with some kkk imagery in the videos? Hmm....I should get a coffee."

"Has anyone ever skated to Bad Girls by Donna Summer? It's perfect! Entry level. How much are song rights?"

"Whatever happened to remix parts? Am I out of the loop? Is that still a thing?"
"Why concede all work ethic to the protestants, y'know?"

Depends on the video, but sometimes I can do this with most tricks in clips I’ve never seen. Tells a lot about how ive spent my time I guess.

Anybody have boring dreams because they think too much in them? I just had a dream where I was going to another country in a skate trip. Sounds sick, right? Never got there. Spent the whole dream thinking about logistics. “Ok, I’ve got my skate stuff, but where are my clothes? Toothbrush, tooth paste…gotta pack my meds in their original containers. Woops! Can’t bring my prescription weed oil with me, better leave that here. I can grab ibuprofen and gravol on the way to the airport and… oh fuck, did I ever renew my passport?”

I never even made it to the fucking airport.

Growing up my Dad always had a white handkerchief on him that he blew his nose in. He'd just blast some boogers in there and put it back in his pocket. It always grossed me out and it wasn't like we didn't have access to tissues back then. I assume it was just a generational thing, but that shit's gross.
