Got on Tubi to watch ‘The N Men’ the other week and it made me realize how many skate/surf films are on there.

Was watching this surf/skate/action sport film from 1976, “Go For It” - the Larry Bertlemann stuff is super sick, about four minutes in:

And the music for his sequence is so good, can’t get it out of my head:

Rest of the movie is great, some Zephyr team footage, definitely a Warren Miller vibe too.

Has anyone seen the Mentors/El Duce Tapes doc?  Is it worth a few dollar rental?

One of the greatest documentaries ever. The beginning when they are going into the mine on a conveyor belt says it all. Imagine a world without the EPA or labor unions.

The Librarians. New one by Kim A. Snyder about the rise of book bans in America over the last four-five years. It’s a doozy, but not unhopeful. She also made Newtown - in addition to others I have not seen - which I highly recommend.

https://thelibrariansfilm.com/

It’s screening across the country and will be available online in January.

Pacing was good. She gives a lot of room for and time to her subjects that I appreciate. Lets them tell the story in a concise and honest way. Librarians are pretty bad ass and more people need to read books in general.

Tis the season to watch this Wiseman documentary about the inner workings of a department store. Pretty horrifying but entertaining.

this was very sad, eye-opening, fascinating.
I loved Restrepo but this was on some crazy level.
