Oh man, Delours Price is an entity unto herself. Patrick Radden Keefe wrote a really good book based around her and some of the people that she helped to "disappear". Same name as the series, so I imagine that a good portion of the story is based around his book and research.

It’s actually based on him (or someone) interviewing her and to a lesser extent Brendan Hughes as they tell their story

Oh sick, didn't know they were doing a tv adaptation of Say Nothing, even if it's just half as good as the book it'll be worth watching.

First found out about it cause I think @smellsdead recommended it in the book thread a few years ago, I read it so fast, couldn't put it down. Even bought a copy for my mom for her bday or a holiday or something.

New FX show alert

Interior Chinatown.   

Read the book (INT. Chinatown) and thought it was great.   It’s about a Chinese person who realizes he’s a minor character in a white person’s narrative (a police procedural) and seeks to be the lead of his own story. 

Very much a meta take on minority representation in Hollywood, but, at least the book wasn’t, not heavy handed or preachy about it.

Not on Netflix, but for any fans of anime here, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is on Hulu in both sub and dub. Restarted it for the first time in years last night and ended up watching 8 full episodes before I realized I had stayed up too late.

Sorry for adding to the Movies that Do Suck on Netflix, but I watched Don't Move, and it was trash. Just a heads up to anyone thinking about it. I can be a sucker for lower budget thrillers, but there were so many implausible situations, it was impossible to take it seriously.

Anybody got Mubi? If so, is it worth it? I noticed they have Stefan Jarl Mod's Trilogy and a bunch of Lars von Trier stuff including the Dogme95 certified The Idiots @matt_2993

The new Polar vid put me on to the Mod's Trilogy as it used some music from it for the intro. Sounds like it's kinda like a Swedish version of Michael Apted's Up series.

I don't watch too much TV but The Offer is so damn good. Hits the spot like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.  Didn't think an acted series about the making of the Godfather could be that good but I'm loving it. The casting of all the different actors has been great to see too, they might not be exactly perfect but I'd definitely say they crushed it so far, Al Pacino and Brando are awesome

Black Doves, really cool spy thriller with Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw.

On the other side of the spy coin, The Agency on Paramount Plus is a great spy thriller that’s more John Le Carre while Black Doves is more James Bondish (real world spy vs action spy).  Both are good just different itches to scratch
