Not entirely shoegaze, but many shoegaze elements on this. Its from a popular 90s band in Greece. The singer died recently.

I've been listening to a lot of vocaloid shoegaze recently which is probably unappealing to non-weebs, but re;mo is the best I've heard within this tiny subgenre:

Also STAR rules and is probably the best of Scott Cortez's many bands:

I'm no weaboo but that vocaloid track was heavy as fuck. I had no idea such a thing existed. What are they made for? Is it fan stuff for YouTube or is there a more official, product based angle to it?

One of my favorite bands - Velocity Girl. Their first EP and first album, Copacetic, could be considered shoegaze. After that, they become a bit more pop. Still great, but in a different way.

I never got too into shoegaze, but I LOVE all of the stuff that Whirr has done. The stuff done with the original girl singer was amazing. The last album with the bassist singing was great too. Probably too "new" of a band to be taken serious though I'm sure.

I'm with you on that I always liked whirr and I liked them a bit better with the female vocalist but sadly things with them were not working out well

I'm friends with their guitarist Nick. He has a couple side projects as well if you liked Whirr.

He has a side project with Alexandra who used to sing in Whirr. They're name is Camera Shy. Their full length is amazing. Really nice, soft music. Kind of in the vein of Best Coast / Camera Obscura. There is one song on the album that sounds like it could have been an old Whirr b-side because the guitar riffing screams Pipe Dreams.

He is also did these dope Misfits cover songs under the name Orange Hell. Not sure if it's also the girl from Camera Shy but it's basically a Whirr side project as well. I think it's supposed to be a secret that he did that stuff though  :-X When you know that it kind of starts to make sense that the guitar tones and feel of the music are the way they are.

Aside from that, he was also in Deafheaven. Not sure if you're into that kind of music! Sorry for the novel!

I had no idea about Camera Shy but I'll check them out though. Thanks!

Wouldn't call this shoegaze but it def has elements. This track's from his (Jefre Cantu-Ledesma) Love Is a Stream LP off Type, which is goood if you've never heard. I'll add Yellow Swans (albums: Drowner Yellow Swans and Going Places) to the list if you like this sort of thing. Belong's October Language is also solid. Goodnight Sweet Prince by Grasshopper too.

He just shitted it up so bad afterward it was truly disappointing

Oddly enough now when I feel like listening to S59 I just end up listening to True Widow usually

Different music but it gives me the same feeling

WHIRR finally put out their 3rd LP after gettin canceled  and dropped from their label in 2015.

It's their best, produced by people in Cloakroom so it sounds HUGEEE and the songs are soooo good
