The Wachowskis and Tom Twyker's Cloud Atlas. Just too sum up how fucking crazy this thing is going to be, Hugh Grant says he does a lot of "killing and raping" and Susan Sarandon says she plays "an Indian man".

I downloaded the screener for that about a week ago. I've only got around to watching the first half but it's super slow and obscure. Not really what I expected from the trailer but I have to finish it before I make fair judgement. There is a torrent out there though and it's decent quality.

This is NOT an upcoming movie YET. I love the Punisher as much as I do Batman. Something about regular dudes being just as fucked up as the people they fight, I guess. Anyway, apparently Thomas Jane loves Punisher too, but he just feels it was never done right. He made this little short film and I am assuming he funded it himself. I don't think any actor has done anything like that, to my knowledge. In a perfect world HBO would see this and make a series starring him and giving him a fair amount of creative control.

And here's the absolutely epic first trailer. Anyone going to TIFF this year should definitely check this out as it looks like a serious contender for one of the best blockbuster(ish) films of the year.

wow. this looks pretty mind-bottling (yes, my brain's in a jar right now.) i have to read the book asap. dang, i'm hyped.
