I'm sure it will be fun, but it won't be as cool as the real thing. The rawness is what makes that place rad.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”

Burnside is a cramped shithole. Makes no sense to make a replica.
[close]

Burnside is cramped but for the space they made that shit skatable, more flow than most "professionally constructed" parks so hats off to these guys for taking a proven design and copying it. The good thing is it doesn't look like they're building exactly to scale so a little more room and smoother crete might make this place pretty epic.
I wish our local parks would do this instead of trying to reinvent the wheel each time and making parks that you can't get from one end to the other and back w/o a push.

exactly.

plus, I'm sure in the eyes of people like Brent Atchley or Cardiel... Burnside is perfect. It's just an "advanced" skatepark if you will... its hard to skate.

what happend in Burnside is one of the most important inspirations
for the DIY Culture in Skateboarding and for creative Skatepark Design worldwide!

Nothing then respect for the Burnside Locals who have build history and all the Skatepark construction companys
that born out of that movement.

After 20 Years that DIY Skatepark is a little bit fucked up, thats the way it is.

But its still an outstanding place in Skateboarding Histroy in one line with places like
Dog Bowl, Del Mar Skateboard Ranch, Wallos, EMB ect. ect.- there are people that woud kill to skate that
places again, dont give a fuck about the condition of the ground, just because of the history of that spot.

That public skateparks have replicas of legendary spots (maybe little easier to skate than the original) like China Banks
is a good thing, an well done copy is just a compliment to the original.

People in Montana enjoy your new Park and be happy that your city dont build shit!

It's like a rule: the less people who live in a town, the sicker the skatepark is in said town.?  It's the opposite of how it should be.

might depend on where you live

I took a trip to Seattle all last week with my Girl .We went around all over, but one day - we rented a mini van and went down to Portland  for the day. Needless to say I made my way out to Burnside and had an absolute blast. Brent was there and could not have been nicer and more welcoming to an out of town New Yorker like myself. It was nice not to be surrounded by kids and scooters, and around people your own age. They got it made there - people smoke, drink, blast music & grill and no one gives a fuck. The locals seems to protect it with a passion from Bikes and Bums. Brent told me about the Neckface art show later that night up the road. Got a pic with Andy Roy and Atiba Jefferson there. I was only in Portland for a day, and it was probably the most memorable day of my week out west. I'll have to post some pics of me fanning out on the place soon - maybe i'll post them in this thread.

Needless to say - I can't wait to go back...

They need to make their own kook list.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Yes, but only for demos.  Pros will get picked up at the Bozeman airport and driven out to the park in this:

i have talked to some Burnside Local.
The Replica in Montana is designed and build by Red, one of the
OG Burnside Locals. He starts to build Burnside from the early beginning.

If Red is into Montana - that will be a fucking sick skatepark.

Pretty much all the new parks in Montana, Idaho, and Oregon have been built by Dreamland (Red) or Grindline and are all sick. No prefab crap, no California Skateparks' janky transitions, just perfect crete laid down by the masters.

This is really a classic video - thanks for posting.

Skateboarding has changed since that days.
Red has not changed. Still building it, still killing it. Nothing then respect.

California Skateparks start to built there first skateparks in europe - i was shocked about the bad conditions of the Transitions.
On the Photos the parks looks quite nice... and they fly some guys from america to europe to do the shotecrete job.
But the transitions and corners are fucked up - i can do that better in DIY Style.
Is it in California the same, good look/design but bad construction/quality?
