Clippers got fleeced. Turning Caron butler and Eric Bledsoe into Jared Dudley and JJ Reddick is not impressive.

It seems like they should have gotten more just for Bledsoe since he could probably be a future starter on any team that doesn't feature  Chris Paul. What other decent trading chips do they have aside from him?

Bledsoe was the best trade chip they had to offer. The next best thing they have to offer is deandre jordan and his terrible contract.

Caron I think was expendable on account of his health issues, but agreed on Bledsoe. Maybe bye bye billups? What about Kevin Martin getting 30mil lol

Caron was/is a c+/b- talent and the clippers over payed. As you mentioned major health concerns over the issue. Everything adds up to dumping Caron from a basketball and business standpoint. Bledsoe on the other hand is an issue for me all though as I type this I'm starting to warm up to this new clipper roster. They need a legit 2 gaurd, but what team in this league doesn't, who can play off the ball and with only a handful shooting specialists reddick was a good find. However, when you have a talent that has that has the potential to be a blue chipper you shouldn't deal for anything less. Then again I'm a dishwasher and not a league GM.

Kmart deal is god awful. Words can of describe how foolish Minnesota is. Has Kahn written all over it and he doesn't even work for the minny professional basketball team anymore. Worst deal of the summer guaranteed.

Iggy passing on 14 mil is crazy.

Clippers are the real winners in that trade. Bledsoe hasn't really proven anything yet and what the Clips desperately need is perimeter shooting to spread the floor around Paul and Griffin/DJ (if he doesn't get traded).

i thought it was a good trade. Id assume moving butler cleared some cap space & Reddick should be an excellent backup/6th man for paul. Dudely is solid too & will be great if they can get another SF to start while bringing him off the bench. Im sure Doc knows what he's doing. glad the suns got butler & bledsoe tho. they're gonna be my new hometown team so I'm glad they went from pure trash to slightly less trash.

yeah you right i forget their lineups. they need to get a couple lockdown perimeter defenders like tony allen or something to bring off the bench & to mix with other lineups. I wonder what're the chances they resign Odom and/or billups? they could use the cap space for a couple more young guys.

Im anxious for Dwight's decision.

Me too. Between Houston, Dallas, & LA he could really end up anywhere. I have a feeling it might be Dallas just because Dwight's agent & Mark Cuban are close friends, and they might be tryna sell Dwight on signing with the Mavs & then snagging up Rondo somehow. Houston definitely does seem like a hand in glove fit tho given their system & coaching staff, so i couldnt blame him for wanting to go there either. However, I think if Dwight wants to prove to everyone he's "grown up" he'll stay with the Lakers...even if its just for that extra $30 million.

I think Houston is the best situation in the short term and long term (depending on what the Lakers would have done next year during free agency) but I truly think a man that cares that much about his image would want to be seen as a guy who changed teams 3 times in over a year. I still believe Houston is the most ideal landing spot in terms of purely basketball reasons.

Loving all this offseason action. Pelicans and warriors are gonna be fun to watch
also if you read my whole facebook timeline from back in 2007 then this will also prove that magic is real.

The warriors can't afford jarret jack. He should be gone especially if that's where Dwight decides to land. Warriors making power moves but are heading dangerously close to the luxury and I don't think ownership is commited to being the red.

Pelicans making my favorite off season moves. Winning the off season so far especially if that draft pick they dealt Philly is unprotected.

Looks like warriors are trying to clear cap space to make it all happen though, dwight was just a screen!

Might not have too.

I'd like to think media probably just jumped the gun on the Houston thing, but Howard is all over the fucken shop - this'll probably go on for the next week.

LA might as well trade gasol for some draft picks, have kobe take most of season off (you know hes gonna try to play asap) and tank this year so they can get a decently high draft pick & rebuild from there. they only have nash locked in for the 14-15 season so they can prolly resign Kobe for a lower pricetag & pick up some big-name free agents with all that salary cap space.

I aint mad at howard for going to houston. it seems like the best fit for him, but even still now that hes FINALLY picked his long-term team, he better play his heart out to make up for all the bullshit hes been on the past few years

If I'm the lakers I'm trying to get Asik, pieces and or draft picks out of Houston while keeping eyes on the prize to bring lebron in next summer or the following.

what do you think the odd are that lebron leaves the heat? assuming Bosh & Wade more or less play at the same pace they did this last season. you think he'd consider jumping ship again?

I think it's highly possible lebron leaves Miami. Its well known pat riley has sold his condo in miami and has a house in malibu awaiting his retirement. in the 14-15 season miami wont be able to afford the big 3 if they all decide opt in. d wade is getting older and is breaking down at a pretty consistant rate; also wade is consumed by the idea of parenthood I don't know how interested in basketball he really is anymore especially after winning three titles, maybe he feels his r?sum? is complete. The erosion of d wade is detrimental to miamis small ball scheme which is dependent on athleticism and outside shooting. Keeping all three, over time, ruins the system. Bosh has always been the X factor, being the fantasy gm that I am I dump wade and try to keep the bosh lebron tandem and put bosh at his natural position and build around that tandem. But if you're Miami do you try and make wade a lifer, a rarity in this day and age. These are the basketball reasons why I am leaning toward his departure.

His personal motivations are what confuse me. He's openly stated he wants to become a billionaire athlete. Los Angeles makes this a possibility. If not being in LA are we to believe that CP3 and Blake Griffin would be plastered all over American televison? However, I think that lebron feels some empathy over the dog an pony show that was "the decision" and wants to give back to the community that raised him and that is if and only if he and Dan Gilbert can break bread and squash beef. I think this a slim chance. If you read the comic sans fonted letter than you could see that Gilbert doesn't seem like the kind of guy who can let bygones be bygones. He seems to have a vandetta and that is drag lebrons name in the mud for the entirety of his career. All things considered signs point to sunny Southern California.

yeah that makes sense. It'd definitely be interesting to see. Like you said I figure miami keeps wade for the rest of his career (but i guess I thought Boston woulda kept Paul Pierce too) and possibly trade bosh (if they felt the team was on the decline) just because he's the ugly duckling of the bunch but shit I guess you never know. it would just seem kinda strange for him to bring so much to miami for 3-4 years throughout all the controversy, only to move on somewhere else as soon as that contracts up. Stranger things have happened tho. Seeing Kobe & Lebron on the same team would be nuts. that is, if kobe is still playing by then.

I thought Kobe could go on for a few more seasons the way he was playing this year before his achilles went. Wade, though less old decrepit, looked like he was on a one way downward slope. You can see that his body just isn't working as well anymore, and I think both he and Lebron know that the 7 championships they claimed are probably not gonna happen. If the Heat 'three-peat' (? Pat O'reilly) and Lebron jumps ship to another superteam in the summer,he could be well on his way to 6 rings.
