Antwuan Jamison to the clippers if anyones still following free agency moves. man this upcoming season is about to be GREAT. so many storylines to watch all around the league.

also bentmode I think Westbrook will be good to go. A meniscus tear isn't nearly as serious as an ACL injury so he should be back to his regular self a few weeks into the season, if not opening night. i've had partial tears in both of my meniscuses and skated on them before they fully recovered weeks afterwards. Not exactly the same thing, but its definitely not too bad of an injury. hell bounce back just fine.

I think Dwights gonna come back with a vengence too. I was never a fan of his childish ass indecisiveness, but hell be looking to prove himself in houston and he has a better fitting supporting cast around him. he should be as good as if not better than he was during his best days in orlando

I like your ballot for first team all NBA next year but let me help you a bit. Russel Westbrook just had knee surgery, okc would be smart  to d rose him.

Ryan Anderson is a forward. Stretch 4 actually.

Barring injury lebron is the best player in the game.

I would put Timmy at power foward since its his natural position, not to take away from LA, but the league is pretty deep at 4.

If Dwight remains to be a shell of himself I got Pekovic at best 5.

I have no idea how fantasy sports work, just assumed you take 1 of every position and deal with trades as the season progresses. The King can play all positions, guard Centers so he has no position really.

Big fan of Pekovic, fantasy sleeper that`s for sure. Who else will get it done for Minny.. I should have taken Detroit`s Josh Smith at PF, the guy is a stats filling machine, and he never gets the credit

I'm pretty big on josh smith, but he's a sf trapped in a pf's body. He's always taken horrid long range jumpshots and 3s. He certainly has gotten better about taking less of those shots. Guy definetly puts up great numbers though.

you're a fucking idiot and need to get lebron's sack removed from your asophagus. Lebron CANNOT guard centres. If he could, why was a scrub like Hibbert looking like prime Hakeem against his team? Why was a senior-citizen duncan shitting on his team? Why did he struggle to matchup against David West at the 4? Why was Spo, a very good defensive coach, matching Chris Bosh and Birdman up against the opposing teams C instead of Bron? Lebron is a very versatile defender but he frankly cannot guard Centres. He may  do well for 1-2 posssesions by fronting the post but he cannot guard centres for more than that. he is still a very versatile defender and a great help defender  there is not a single year he has deserved DPOY and I seriously doubt there ever will be, his man defense leaves so much to be desired. stop watchign ESPN and start watching some actual basketball games.

Joakim Noah deserved DPOY last year imo.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/nba-superfan-jimmy-goldstein-own-ideas-stop-flopping-175814547--nba.html
Quote
Last season, the NBA tried to discourage flopping by fining players. As Commissioner David Stern acknowledged, it didn't work. Therefore, I would propose another approach to stop the flop. The rule should be changed so any time that a defensive player falls flat on his back immediately upon contact from an offensive player, the officials will not call any foul.

This rule will eliminate any motivation for the defensive player to deliberately fall down when contact is made.

Those opposed to my proposal will suggest that this is not fair to the defensive player who can't stop himself from falling on his back after being run over by (say) LeBron James.

My answer is that the defensive player will make every effort to keep his balance so that a foul will be called. And if he staggers before falling, the official will be allowed to call the foul. The offensive player will be afraid to run over the defensive player because the offensive player will be called for a foul so long as the defensive player holds his balance for a split second before falling (or doesn't fall flat on his back).
http://www.nba.com/2013/news/09/02/morning-tip-jimmy-goldstein-guest-column-los-angeles-lakers/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt3b

Not a bad idea.  I'd like to see how it works in game action.

On another note,
when are we starting a new thread for the 2013-14 season?  Preseason starts in a month.

Don't see it happening. I think it's just their first instinct to try to draw the foul. Or like an offensive player shooting a 3 then trying to draw contact. Same as NFL I suppose with concussions they're inevitable.

Lebron is first team nba all defense, his entire career. He protects the rim with the best of em. If you are too thick to understand he's the best player in the game on both sides we can't have a real conversation about the NBA. Noah? He's a beast but mostly a rebounder and shit disturber.. Noah doesn't guard the rim like lebron, can't play 48 minutes like lebron, he's slower than lebron, and he can't jump like lebron. If fouling out wasn't an issue Lebron would be be the undisputed best defender of all time, he's #2 on the DPOY yet he's still so valuable on offense, it's like he gives a half effort on D and this is what you get

Lebron isnt a specialist, hes not known as a defensive specialist therefore doesnt get the credit. It is a crime that Lebron didnt win DPOTY. I would rather go up against Gasol vs Lebron Im sure you would too, think of it in human terms

I'm not a fan of Lebron's game simply for the fact it's just not good looking to watch, he can get the job done and I'm not gonna pretend he can't score but it lacks aesthetics

Chasing down somebody on a fast break does not count as protecting the rim. Sure lebron makes everyone look foolish in the restricted area every so often but it's not something you can count on. Real rim protectors can anchor a defense for at least 30 minutes a game. Lebron is more of a wing defender. He can gaurd hybrid forwards and that's about max. International ball is another subject.

Kyrie might have a really good year this time around. Some people were saying that because the cavs were trying to tank they would extend kyries injury times beyond what they were suppose to be so there's the off chance he's not as fragile as he's made out to be.

In which case how much money do you think the lakers might throw at him once his contract is up? Meta was singing his praises and I've seen some YouTube clips of Kyrie and Kobe together. Lakers are gonna be very desperate this year. For once in their lives they're the underdogs.

They probably will match whatever offers he gets but if the cavs don't make playoffs or Bynum, waiters and Tristan (and I guess Bennett) don't really live up to expectations i dont think its such a clear cut decision anymore. He would be the first player to reject a max offer off a rookie contract true but if it looks like more years in hell what's really keeping decision 2.0 from happening?

Either everybody does a lot of growing up this season and surpass expectations or a couple cards sag and the whole pyramid falls.

Either way this season is going to be really fun to watch.

Yeah exactly, so if he doesn't sign the team option that would probably start the rumor mill in this offseason. It's a 20 million gap the but it's LA and its a big market team. If the cavs suck how does this not at least make some sense?
