It's only been one game and Im already am sick of Westbrook, the Nuggets post chip team management has been terrible. I don't feel good about the Murray extension either, but I understand that one at least.

Feels like every team team has gotten better and the Nugs are sliding down...

Nuggets would have won against the Wolves last year but Jokic was gassed. Give Russell time to settle in. I believe he will help add energy to the team. Also, their first round draft tore his Achilles. That player was going to add some size. The Nuggets need to play like the 2013-14 Spurs. They don’t have enough shooters so they have to move the ball and Jokic is the best at it.

Klay looking good at the Mavs. No idea how this is going to work long term but that first game went better than I expected.

Really hope Russ doesn't tank the Nuggets.

I think they need to play Russ with Jokic and not have him ‘lead the 2nd string’. He should play pick and roll with Jokic and always be trying to cut to the hoop and get offensive rebounds. He needs to a disruptor. Russ still puts in more effort than most players in the league.

I'm rooting for the Nuggets so I hope you're right and they can make it work somehow

I completely disagree with this. Russ is a chucker and ruins good possession that the Jokic/Murray PNR can create. That team functions best with shooters. Russ putting in effort is also GROSSLY overrated. Yeah he puts in effort when the ball is in his hands but off ball he is atrocious and defensively is a turnstile.

I just think that they are going to have to change how they are playing to win. They do not have enough shooters and many of the Western Conference teams (i.e. Dallas, Lakers, Suns, etc.) have higher percentage 3 point shooters. Denver looks like they may miss the playoffs right now which is a shame because Jokic is so entertaining to watch.

oh absolutely. It hurts them so much because Russ can't run even a bench lineup and with the starters he's not the person you want with tthe ball in their hands.

It's going to be a looong year for the nuggets

You have to wonder if the artist had ever seen a photo of D Wade. Remember when they spelled names wrong on Kobe’s statue?

And wasn’t Iversons statue like 1/3rd his size?

I wonder if the owners are going to the local trophy maker to create these statues. Also, did the heat owner see the statue and say ‘good enough’? So embarrassing.

I don’t get what’s so hard about it - not that I could do it, but sculpture is many thousand year old art form that’s been long since nailed

Love this!!

Also, huge nba fan here, but with my Pistons being in disarray for almost 2 decades, I don't post in this thread.  Nice to see them competing every game and I think Bickerstaff is going to finally turn them around.  Solid vet pickups in the off season (minus Harris, who seems trigger shy) despite Tim Hardaway Jr getting injured on multiple shots to the head.  That was tough to watch live.

I saw this podcast excerpt from Big Ben saying Melo would've ruined the chemistry had Detroit drafted him in 03 over Darko...

My thing is all those vets would've kept his ego in check. Of course maybe prince doesn't become prince and maybe they don't get Sheed that year... but man imagine that Melo fire power off the bench. Or in 2005 versus the spurs... food for thought lol

The legal and business creativity needed to maneuver a licensing deal between TNT and ESPN/ABC is unfathomable and major kudos goes to whoever the fuck pulled that off behind the scenes.  It made way too much sense to NOT keep that show going since it was the best thing the NBA has going for it, but most/all of the times things that make too much sense get squashed due to corpo egos not wanting to make a deal.
My guess is Adam Silver told ESPN/ABC and TNT to make it happen and gave them a strong "nudge" to get a deal done.  The Inside crew is too important to break them up.

Tom Holland got Marvel and Sony to play nice and keep making Spider-Man movies by calling the head of Sony drunk and quoting Socia Network to him (you know what’s better than a million dollars…)
