Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, analytically speaking we've still got 2 more to go. And James Harden (2/8, 5 TO) said after game 4 that the Cavs are the better team. I'm not counting my chickens yet.

I guess this is what the youngins call cope.

That press conference will live in infamy until the end of time. “You look confused. Let me explain”

Jokes aside, what the fuck was he talking about? Can someone explain this to me? I don't think Bobby Puleo could make sense of this.

“I think analytically, think we’ve won the … I said three out of three (after Game 3), we’re two out of three, in the expected wins. I don’t know if you guys follow that, the expected score. We’ve won two out of three.

“I know you’re looking at me confused, but there is really… if you believe in process and all that, … Take that layer. I know I don’t throw that on them. I see it for myself. We have this feeling, I have this feeling, then I can go to our analytical table.

“Last night, our expected score was like one point or two, us shooting way below expected. Them shooting way over. I know no one wants to hear that. I think you guys like it. I know the general public, no one wants that. Everyone is outcome-based. Sure, I get that too.”

@Cuban_Lynx I think the consensus among analytically-minded NBA people is that he was talking about shot quality (https://www.nbastuffer.com/analytics101/quantified-shot-quality-qsq/). And the Cavs indeed generated more high-quality shots in the first 3 games, according to this metric. I guess someone will have to tell Kenny that success actually comes from making shots.

Spurs with their backs against the wall now. I really hope this series is going the distance and they can somehow pull it out. I don't actually think the Knicks will have a better chance against them, but I would much rather watch a rematch of the '99 finals than whatever it is OKC is cooking up.

It would be wild if the Knicks came in and won it all.  Everyone has already concluded that whatever team comes out of the west will win.  I love a good upset.

^Thanks! I watched the interview several times and it sounds like a delusional psych patient.

Man, I was so bummed about MJ last night and struggled to pay attention to the game, but SA looked real sloppy. Sure there were a lot of bad calls, but OKC outplayed them. If J Dub’s hamstring heals up, there’s no way they win 2 in a row with game 7 in OKC.

Total lack of defensive rebounding from the Spurs is bumming me out. Especially since the rest of the defensive effort has been solid. So many times they nearly get a stop, only to give up an easy bucket off a rebound and kick out.

For real.  Hartenstein got 15 boards and Chet had 11. Wemby only had 6 and it just looked like OKC wanted it more.

Caruso is probably the scrappiest player in the NBA. He had 22 points in game 3, 0 points in game 4, then 22 points again in game 5. If you give him an inch, he's going to punish you.  Losing hope in SA, but I still think the Knicks could take them out.

In this series we learned once again that home court advantage is real.

Ugh, wish game 7 was in SA. This is such a better series than the ECF.

I know this point is beaten to death, but glad SGA only got 3 free throws last night vs. 17 in game 5. He had back-to-back flops in Q1 with no whistles.

Aw man we coulda had Double Dragon Champagnies out there like Amen and Ausar Thompson…

If it ends up being Spurs-Knicks it’s going to be so hard. Knicks have a lot of heart. And part of me wants the Spurs to have to overcome some playoff adversity before they get a chip, just to make it a better narrative. But when it comes down to it I have to root for the Spurs. They’re my squad.

Shame on me for forgetting to shout out Dylan Harper too. That young man is COOOLD.

Interesting to think which turn the narrative will take with game 7. NBA would gain more from allowing a Spurs win to face the Knicks as both have much bigger fan bases. A lot of people still would want to see OKC v Knicks, but a lot more would want to see Spurs there. If Spurs lose, it's going to deflate the Wemby hype much more drastically than if the back to back mvp loses.

okc is deep. Why i think the Knicks matchup well. They put up 130 with no one scoring over 20 lol still jealous of that Alvarado pick up. Does the dirty work.

But i have enjoyed the chippiness from SA. Helluva response. Gotta love game 7s.

GAME 7 LETS GO!
This series has been crazy to watch and it’s basically a toss up at this point, anything can happen and it probably will tonight, OKC at home is really tough so far in the playoffs so they have a slight edge but you never know, this whole playoffs has been a roller coaster ride and hopefully it won’t be a blowout either way.

Knicks well rested or well rusted?
Whoever they face is hopefully going be exhausted and spent but it’ll be a wild finals regardless, the Knick energy is undeniable and we’ll see if they can keep riding that tidal wave.

Kornet may have had the play of the game, total momentum shift. Lets keep those sisters in the crowd.

1999 repeat. Pop must be hyped! I still have no clue who I'm cheering for in the finals. I just want another game 7.

Knicks and Spurs this year so far:

Knicks beat Spurs in the Cup final 124-113
Spurs beat Knicks 134-132
Knicks beat Spurs 114-89

Obviously both teams are playing incredible ball so far in the playoffs and this should be a great series, so let’s see what happens.

Definitely the matchup I was waiting to see.

Nearly playoffs time fellas.

As much as I want Detroit to get their rings, I think it will be Celtics v OKC/SAS.

In the East, I hope Charlotte makes a run. Cavs and Hawks may go to 7. Honestly no idea who will take that one. Knicks make it to semis to lose to Celtics in 5. Celtics take Pistons in conf finals in 6.

In the West, Rockets get tossed first round. Suns v Clips should be good, Suns in 6. GSW for the play-in just to get absolutely handled by OKC in the sweep. Lakers in 6 then Spurs take them in 5.

Nugs v OKC, damn. Unfortunately I think OKC takes it.

Spurs v OKC will be a gauntlet. Might take Spurs 7 but they can take it.

Celtics v Spurs in finals edge going to Celtics
Glad I'm not a betting man
