The only reason rule-reading is a convention is because Berra and Koston are megalomaniacs. They're not always the designated rule-readers; but when they are, it's definitely take their opportunity to make it all about them. Of course, we should draw distinctions between their beautiful orations: Berra's nonchalance (i.e. mumbling to the point of near-unintelligibility) and Koston's comedy routine (i.e. a bunch of gesticulation and profanity, because he rarely has anything original to say).
And the new pre- and post-match interview style... A poster summed it up earlier: sheeesh. Everything about it's weird, down to the lighting. It looks like an interrogation, or perhaps the starlet-interviews at the beginning of gonzo porn. You can just feel the discomfort coming from the subjects. And if Reda's gonna accost these people with silly questions, at least listen to their answers. Ha, I loved this awkward exchange (that I paraphrase):
Reda: But you lost to Paul in the Finals that time.
Cole: Actually, I beat him.
Reda: But if you're going to lose to someone, at least it was to Paul.
