When a 58mm radial full 97a comes out i am gonna get that for sure
I have heard those SKF bearings feel very fast. I have been fucking around with all sorts of random ass bearings lately after only riding swiss for years and havent really noticed any huge difference, looking forward to trying those SKF
I gotta got conical Again, that’s definitely my favorite shape.
My 97 56 radial fulls keep unseating when left to sit. I’ll come back to them when I get a ride, the sideboard and, they gotta be loosened up.
I think this wheel shape only if I didn’t use spacers. And it’s gotta be 60mm. If I’m going heavy might as well get all the speed that comes along with it.
I’ve read or heard similar testimonial about that Uber wide shape.
I’m hoping that the new 97 is a little bit smoothe toor. I almost fell off today on some crust that the old Powell wheel wouldn’t have noticed.
Those are what 30 years old too?
Mine didnt really "Un-seat" but i noticed that after I first put in my bearings on the last 2 sets of F4s, I would tighten to the point of almost no play at all on the axle. I would ride around a for a session, and then notice that I could tighten the nuts on the axles quite a bit more after the session, if that even makes any sense.
I really love the sound, speed, and the lifespan of the radial full more than anything. They somehow seem to slide better than skinny wheels too which doesnt make any sense. On paper you would think a skinnier wheel should slide better and go faster, but in my experience it doesnt seem to... So its just winning for me in all departments. I am on 99a and they have never really felt "too slippery" for me yet.
I stopped using spacers just because I am trying to reduce all rattle possible on my setup. Axle nuts are pretty tight, hardly any play. no rails or anything. The main thing I miss about Thunders on this setup was the sound of that chunky cast plate. The Lurpiv just sounds squeaky and shitty.
