After a total of about 3 hours of hill bombs, the massive flat spot I had is almost gone. Doing powerslides definitely sped up the process, thank you to everyone who suggested that. I can still feel the flat spot when I rub my thumb over it, but it’s at a point where I barely notice it when riding my local park

There’s some material that is hard to come across for the 93s, which is probably needed for the 97s as well. Also, some people prefer the original 97 formula compared to the updated formula.

There have been multiple sets of wheels in 93 and 97 that never made it to shops. It’s better to have a decent wheel that is available on a regular basis than a really good wheel that is available sporadically.

Get those 93s while you can: word on the skreet is one of the key inputs is getting much harder to come by so if you’ve been waffling, maybe grab a set now as it may be a minute until they run them again.
I know they recently re-upped the stock at the warehouse, but it sounds like they may be a wee bit more precious going forward.

Like Brimmo, I’m no chemical engineer, so I can’t say precisely which component is going to become rarer, but the word I got is some component in the 93s also has an application in military industrial uses & I was advised to get a set sooner rather than later if I wanted to re-up, as THAT ingredient is getting snatched up buy the larger (gov’t) contracts.
I wouldn’t bet Muska’s farm on this piece of intel, but linking clues & words, it seems to me there may be a chance my sources say sooth that’s the truth.

Its not a secret that I ride a good deal of DLX wood & roll Spitfires almost exclusively: I will gladly sing the praises of San Francisco’s “home team” because that’s our local squad & they also happen to make the best shit out there.
Add to that their activism on behalf of ALL SORTS of skaters everywhere & I don’t even feel the need to be covert about my support of their product.

Now if only those new Thunder T-2s will tick off the right boxes for me, I too can get up on one of these ALL DLX set-ups.
Sticking w/ Ace, Indy & Lurps until then though.

I could be wildly off of course, but in the Fall Drop 2 catalog the 97s are clearly labeled as "Original Formula" where once it said "New Formula." And no 93s listed. This is consistent with Lou's Chemical Conspiracy theories...

I think before anyone jumps to conclusions, the main thing to note is that there seemed like there were a lot of the original formula 97s still around, so maybe they are not making many as they still have heaps, so just have those wheels in the catalog for now.

Also as has been stated, a few times now actually, it is more about sourcing materials, which right now they cannot do, so there is an inability to produce whatever wheels used the material in question, which happens to be anything with the soft slide technology - in this case the 93 duro wheels and the reformulated 97s.


If you like them, find them and get them.


Seems like we still have a lot here in AU, but who knows and for how long.  The irony of people buying wheels to ship back to USA is not lost on me, however I can see people doing that if there is no other stock available and they want them that badly.

I also wonder how much stock is in other places too, because I know it takes a few months for it to get here, so any other stock in transit might turn up and become available at some point, but I am thinking whatever is out there now is going to be it until they get the material again.

They're totally fine. Didn't even notice they'd worn down so much until doing a visual wear check and thinking hmm they look a bit funny. And only noticed that yesterday.

did 10k of street skating from place to place in Toronto on Friday and hitting spots. full day of skating, was rad. Used the new 97a, 57mm radials. very glad I had those. Felt like it was easy to do all my tricks when I was at the spots and I was flying from place to place and not getting tired. There are some randomly super crusty roads in the middle of Toronto as well. theres an insane one like RIGHT BEHIND the CBC spot where BDK skates a lot.

Just another one of those things, while changing things over on a few boards testing new Indy baseplates with different holes, I had a roll on the board with the Radial Full 54 mm 97 duro wheels and was thinking about not having any Classics in the new 97 duro, so I turned these Radial Full shaped wheels into fat little Classics, almost the same shape as my other 56 mm Classic Full wheels that are now down to about 54 mm anyway.

They skate way better now with the rounder edge too, so I might get some more of the Radial Full shaped wheels and take them down - both one mm in overall width on each side (2 mm total) and then round them off a whole lot more so I have that nice round shape in a fairly wide but not crazy wide shape.

The 54 mm size seems to be really comfortable for me as well, so I don't need to take down the diameter at all either, which means a whole lot less work.

I can take down the Pedro normal Radial 55 mm shape too, which I have a couple of sets, if I really want a regular Classic shape in the new duro version, but I think this set should be good for now, just to test them out a bit more.

The first Lock Ins are there, left side, second down, but they are all wider now than when they first came out.  Is that what you were meaning?

I have the 53 and 55 mm size and they are both skinny, the 55 mm are 33 mm wide.  The newer ones say they are 35.9 mm wide, but I haven't seen any to actually compare.


Also the Classic 60 mm wheel used to be wider, once listed as 39 mm but I think they were more like 38 mm, but now listed as 37 mm wide.  Not a big deal but it is interesting to see changes like this, when I thought those wheels were mostly all unchanged in the actual wheel shape and size.


Any which way, they still have all of them, nine there, at least at that time, when the Lock In Full wheels had just come out.

Not counting the new Ishod wheel - Lock In Classic, then my fav - the Classic Full, as well as newly released in F4 - Bighead shape, or as it seems everyone else's fav from here the Radial Slim, along with some others that are long gone, but that is beside the point.


Has anyone seen or measured any new normal Lock In wheels recently and if so, are the specs correct?

Curious and interested to know.

They just have Conical and Conical Full style lock in on that chart it seems.
