The pre book catalogs which come out months before the stock drops have all the pics and info - shop eyes only (and select few who are in the know) but I think these ones are probably going to pop up on socials soon enough and shops not long after that.

At least the pic of the 53 mm wheels was already out there, from the Grant Taylor instagram story (go back a page or two on this thread).

Been a minute for the Classic Full in bigger sizes - last ones I had seen here were the 56 mm Ransom graphic 2020, then the 54, 56 and 58 mm Lance Mountain and Grosso wheels, back in 2019 or so.

I know there have been others out more recently like the Max Palmer Limosine special black / white swirls in 54 and 56 mm too, but there was no way they were going to make it to AU, or order any direct from their site either.

Black and red swirl would also be a good one to mix in with the naturals I already have, if I was inclined to do that sort of thing.


* Also pretty stoked they finally have the dimensions correct too - old charts still had them at 35 mm wide for a long time, but the 56 mm Classic Full wheels are 37 mm wide and the 58 mm wheels are 38 mm wide.  I know it is just a nit picking thing, but I recall a conversation a while back where someone was adamant they were not that wide.  I had to take a pic of the older ones I have, but no worries - good wheels in good sizes.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I think the easiest way to explain to some people is like this:

To start with I had a set of Classic 56 mm wheels - round sidewall with a fairly narrow riding surface, then when they wore down to 55, they were more like Classic Full / Bighead shape - still a round wheel, just a slightly wider riding surface, then worn down further to around 52 to 53 they resembled the Radial edge - still slightly rounded but way more squared off with a much wider riding surface.

It is still not quite that simple, but that is how the wheels feel when I ride them too, although the smaller sizes of anything are not half as wide overall.


To compare numbers in a 56 mm size wheel:

Classic is 35 mm wide with a 17.8 mm riding surface

Radial is 35 mm wide with a 21.5 mm riding surface

Classic Full is 37 mm wide with a 23 mm riding surface

Yes the older Bighead shape was a bit wider, but did have different dimensions, especially in a few of the sizes, where they went wider, then not as wide, then wider again, etc.

Kind of funny looking at the current info on them, cause they all used to be wider, the old 57 mm size was 37 mm wide too, not as it is now, but the 59 mm wheel is still almost 39 mm wide, so go figure.

Yes it is finally correct on the drop for this current chart / info and for the 80HD versions too.

All the previous / old charts had incorrect measurements, as per this chart pic below - note the bigger sizes they had showing as only 34.8 and 35 mm wide for those bigger sizes.

Sorry almost missed this one as it didn't link for the mention, but yes I have worked in retail for a long, long time, basic department store stuff back in the early 90s, then working in shops that had skate product in 00s / 10s, then helping run a few skate shops here and there in the last ten years, now semi retired, but still working in a skate shop / indoor skatepark type of setup and helping people when and where I can, such as on here too.

Pretty much anything to do with regular skateboarding in any shape or form, I am happy to help anyone either online or in person in Brisbane, Australia, but I definitely have my own preferences in product and brands, where I like to skate, what I like to skate, etc.

I guess it shows, cause I do get a bit crazy with all the details and info too.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Do you mean the new Classic Full wheel as per the pics posted above, or a different one?

Also, the Shroom wheels are just team wheels, not pro editions, just in case that was the question too?

Not sure of any other Grant Taylor wheels coming, but I guess the next drop of stock should happen soon enough and usually things come out to coincide with events and other goings on.


The funny thing I guess is that catalogs with pre book info do come out but things like the purple graphic wheel in Drop 3 might be best left until there is a post about it via their socials, or someone has posted it, as per the Classic Full wheel pic from Grant Taylor on his own instagram account, which someone would most likely screen shot and post, which then makes it fair game to talk about and post other pics.

Just don't want to spill the beans before time on some things.


* Edit:  I see the Skate Like A Girl wheels are now up on the Spitfire insta with the date for their event, so I guess everything else should be out pretty soon anyway.

Not sure if this is for here in AU, but none of those links work for me, not the Spitfire wheels or the T-II trucks.  All the older stuff comes up fine, so maybe it is just the new drop that is somehow not working (on both browsers).  Any which way, it is not a worry to me, as it is more just looking at the listings than anything else.

* Took a minute, but the Radioactive series from the last drop arrived in Australia (along with the Thunder T-II trucks) and I got a set of the Bighead 54 mm wheels.  Funny how that extra little bit of width just makes them work for me now, more so than the usual 54 mm Classics or any thinner wheel shape, but I think they will feel just right when I get them down to 53 mm or so.

Ha yeah, just like there is the Skate Sk8 Hi and other similar things.

Any which way, I am stoked there are more of them out, cause they are a really fun wheel and with all the "FULL" shapes being the most interesting, it seemed only fitting that a Classic Full shape should make a comeback at some point, even though I know it is hardly as full in the riding surface as all these other variants.

Haven’t opened them or set them up yet as I’m waiting to axle my trucks and set up a Freshie but is it me or do they seem to not be so classic shaped as the smaller ones. These bigger ones seem slightly more radial shape. Ever so slightly. Maybe I’m trippin or the colors are throwing me off but I feel like the proportions of the classic shape are thrown off as they get bigger. Idk I’ll report back after I actually put them on and skate them. Just my first impression looking at them up close

The Classic Full is very similar to all the normal Classic wheels up to 55 mm, then they widen out significantly, from 35 to 37 between Classics and Classic Full of the same 56 mm size.

Smaller ones are only half a mm difference in that regard.

The 58 mm wheels are wider again, but looking at a set of Classic Full and a set of Radial, which in 58 mm are both 38 mm wide, you can really see the difference.  That is normal Radial too, not Radial Full, which is even wider again.

I guess that is one of the main reasons I like that 56 mm size and got so many of them last time they came out, because I prefer a fairly wide riding surface right from go, which these definitely have.

Any other Classic shape, I feel like I need to get them down a mm or two so the riding surface widens right out, as per some I have machined and they are just right.


For people not used to 37 mm wide wheels, they sure do look and seem big, especially on smaller setups.


* This is also a pretty big difference in width and riding surface between the two sizes in this capsule too.

Width - 3.5 mm difference
Riding surface in particular - 5 mm difference is huge for numbers in skateboarding.
