Here's some stuff I figured out, some from personal experience, some from referencing current charts
Like how I can skate 53 or 54mm classics interchangeably, but a 55 classic is suddenly too big. Certain wheels are suddenly quite a bit wider than the other ones in the same range
I've skated classic 52s, 53s, 54s, 56s, 58s, and 60s. Radial 54s and 58s, and bighead 54s
Classics jump at 55, and again at 60
Classic fulls jump at 56
Bigheads jump at 59
Radials jump at 58
Radial fulls are consistent throughout
i was trying to decide on a good 93a wheel to keep around for crusty spots And this research helped me narrow it down
Classic 56, radial 56, or the bannerot radial full 54s
I normally skate 99a 54mm classics, so I should prolly just do the 56 classics..
The classic and radial 56s are both 35mm wide and the bannerot radial full 54s are 38mm wide
Kinda want to try the radial fulls cause I haven't had any yet, and I have had the 58mm radial 93s which are also 38mm wide, and I liked them.. other than sticking on crooks on metal ledges... But I think the width should have a bigger effect on smoothing out crust than the diameter, right?
