anyone go to LDB? I've seen some shit over 22 years of going to Hardcore shows but that Haywire set was up there as one of the wildest things I've ever seen. They are having their Outbreak and Ceremony moment right now. They easily coulda headlined the entire thing.

Combust, Collateral, Bitter End, COA, Flat Six, What Counts, Cold World were all dope.

They’re on it for 100. I back Haywire all the way. Everything about them is beyond perfection and I’m glad they are getting the love they deserve. Everyone benefits from their work.

May they last 1000 years.

The new Big Boy EP is awesome and it ends with a cover of Life of Agony's Other side of the River. Worth checking out

the WITH HATE 7" is a prime example of the downfall of 500 new releases and bands coming out every month and diluting shit. I feel like this just got swept to the side. If this came out 10-15 years ago it would be THE release.

The old hardcore thread seems to have disappeared and I don't know how or why, so let's start 'er up again.

Somebody just put up this Bloodpact/Varsity split from 1999. Bloodpact was one of the raddest bands from Michigan, in my opinion. Super fast, intelligent, and pissed off. Their singer was in the 90s metalcore band Earthmover, and went on to form Ruination (with Chris Colohan from Cursed, Mike Haliechuk from Fucked Up, and Ebro Virumbrales from Los Crudos) and some other bands. Varsity, on the other half of the split is more youth crewy, still pretty good, but the Bloodpact side is gold. Get on it because it's rare and it's dope.

Fantastic album. I took a few months and learned the whole thing on my drums. Matt Wood wrote some seriously tricky shit. Now it's my skill marker, if I can still play through this album I still got it lol.

my zine (Mundane Moshers) is doing a split realease with From Within Records for the new WHO LAUGHS LAST release. From Within is handling the cassette release which is available now and I'm handling the CD release.

For fans of early 2000s hardcore with memebers of far too many bands to name

As a fan from day 1 i find it very boring. Its certainly a Turnstile record but it feels so recycled and theres no ‘hits’ on it imo.

Not sure if this veers more metal, but who cares!

Fugitive have the absolute best riffs in the game right now, I'd say some of the best riffs in all of contemporary heavy music, period.

I think it essentially is Power Trip, obviously with a new vocalist. The guitar was such a huge part of the Power Trip sound, and this is the same guitarist, Blake Ibanez.

Why do people like Haywire? This is the most generic sounding soulless hardcore ever, it borders on straight shitty bar rock. I feel like I’m not listening to the same Haywire everyone raves about, I hate this band.

Its not the greatest thing ever but its just straight up serviceable hardcore thats easy to tell what hes saying so it makes the live shows good. They actually tour like bands used to do also. A weeklong tour is almost unheard of now a day, let alone a 90 day US tour when they basically did a full US last year too. I mean i dont think we have had a proper band with actual singalong crowd participation and not just moshing since The Rival Mob. I’ll listen to any new material for like a week straight when it drops, put it in the bank and then have a blast any time I see them, but im not reaching for it to throw on regularly. I’ll take it over 100 other new bands right now.
