For fans of Minor Threat and Black flag, VERY good

Would be better if it didn't sound like everything was tracked separately to a click track. Cool voice on dude, but this doesn't have any of the frantic, desperate energy that makes hardcore good, IMO.

Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

some hardcore bangers i've heard recently that's definitely piqued my interest.  there's a bunch of new hardcore/dis-core/uk82 style bands that are putting out great shit:

Necron 9 - total frantic, feral midwest-ish hardcore that reminds me of Urban Mutation or Void:

Ayucaba - metallic/uk82 style with some frantic Japanese hardcore style vocals.  this rules:

ultimate disaster - dis-core with some grit:

Same. Solid show, doesn’t disappoint. Maybe it’s just me but the AFI episode was the only one I skipped. Couldn’t do it.

I think alot of AFI has aged terribly, but it’s definitely worth a listen.

That ep was out there. I don’t know how anyone can put down as many nuggets as either of them did. It’s like Zuma looks forward to the states tours for the meat shits.

I should check it out. Petitioning the Empty Sky and Jane Doe are two metalcore albums that still hold up to me. Another one is Cave In‘s Until Your Heart Stops. That’s my favorite metalcore album.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but Converge for me never stuck. Same with Bane. Two bands that no matter what record, just can’t get into.

Bo from Harms Way/Hardlore pod passed away last night. Rest in peace to a very influential figurehead in the community. Check on your homies.

RIP Bo.

Loved listening to you on the pod - always made me laugh and made me proud to be a hardcore kid. This sucks, tell those close to you that you love them.

knew Bo from damn near 20+ years ago when i saw his first band Double Crossed, then when he was in Few and the Proud (if you've never heard the 'stampede' LP, listen to it, its the most underrated straight edge hardcore record of the 2000's), then doing a couple shows for Convicted (also goated) and then later on doing early Harms Way shows for them. last time i talked to Bo was last year when i did a piece on Few and the Proud for my zine and he was stoked anyone would want to talk about it 20 years later. Recently I released a CD for my friends band where the disc was modeled to a T after his first bands CD and he thought that was insane
