Apples is well off, from a rich suburb of Toronto and his folks now live in the Caymen Islands. Still who really cares, the guy has one of the sickest style ever.

I recall reading that Appleyard bought them that house in the Caymans.

No hate at all towards the 'rich kids,' but it's still awesome seeing people from less than ideal backgrounds make it in skateboarding.

I thought I read he was dirt poor growing up and that Beasley neighborhood or whatever was kinda dodgy.
I read an interview of his in a Canadian mag called concrete years ago and he grew up poor as shit. His mom works in a hotel in the caymen Islands.

Forever Am Kelly Hart has some rich ass parents. He still lives at their house in the Laguna Beach/Nigel area.
Has he been am longer than Jose Rojo? I think Jose was am for like 9 years before he went pro.

I remember reading Javier Sarmiento's family was very well off. doesn't matter though. definitely does in every other aspect of life and other sports. not skating though

The best football (read: soccer) players will always come from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. Zlantan, Zidane, Pele, Ronaldo (the Brazilian), hell most of the Brazilian players.

There is always exceptions to the rule but my point was that most football players that achieve greatness come from poorer backgrounds. Plus saying Brazil is dirt poor isn't exactly accurate, millions of people in Brazil are dirt poor but there is also extreme wealth and the country as a whole is doing well economically speaking
