Konami announced Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill 1 Remake a few days ago. While I’m not all that surprised, it’s kind of shocking considering SH2 Remake came out less than a year ago and SH f is coming in the next three months.
I hope this means we’ll get a SH3 and SH4: The Room remakes as well. Not holding my breath over 4, but 3 would be a no brainer.
Bloober is doing their own new IP 'Cronos' too so I wouldn't expect the SH1 remake super soon. I'm excited for it, though, as I tried to go back and play the original game recently but it was a bit too rough around the edges control wise for me to really get into it. Kind of funny that Konami just outsources almost all their games now, NeoBards is doing Silent Hill F which I think looks really interesting. I do think they're doing Metal Gear Delta in-house, though.
I remember when they announced Cronos! It looks like the type of game to scratch the itch that SH2 Remake left me with. Have they made any further announcements?
I, too, tried to play through SH1 OG and couldn't get past the clunkiness of the tank controls. I know people are nostalgic and "love tank controls", but that shit became a thing of the past for a very good reason.
SH: f looks incredible. I'm looking forward to exploring the Otherworld version of Japan with the monsters being directly inspired by Japanese folklore.
It is odd that they're outsourcing so much, but if it continues to give the great results we've seen, I'm not mad at it.
I think MG Delta will be the first ever MGS game I've ever played.
