Are the bottom stains the same as the tops on all of them, eg green top with green bottom, blue top with blue bottom, etc?  Or just the coloured tops??

The tops are a random affair as far as colors.
Just two plies (top & bottom) are died.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

why doesn't the site list wheelbase for the popsicles?  I can't find anywhere.

I don't know either, but someone who maybe ordered boards or had some connection posted this, which has all the dimension info for all their boards, which is still up in the Woodshop thread:

https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=120409.msg4016120#msg4016120

The first thing I did when I saw this was save the pic file, just in case it got taken down, but no one has asked for it to be removed.

Just safer to post the link than keep reposting the pic file, but thanking @Fast_Freddie for the info always helps too!
Then, I will thank you and @Fast_Freddie  as well!
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

Thanks!

All the Black Label boards I have do have the same colour on the top ply, as they do on the bottom ply, so regardless of the actual colour, it is blue on the top and the bottom, or orange on top and the bottom.

Some other brands that use BBS / Generator seem to also have the same two colours per deck, just the top and bottom stained, but those two stains the same.

Others I have noticed have different colours on each board, eg green on top with a blue bottom, purple on top with aqua on the bottom ply.  Not limited to specific brands, but I have noticed it on small brands as well as bigger ones, like Baker, Deathwish, Birdhouse.

I find it interesting to see the different colour options, ply layups, etc.

Almost obsessive actually.

Picked up a 5 pack of BBS GS8 shapes from Generator’s skatesamples.com site.  When you get them in this volume, they’re down to about $30.50 USD after shipping + taxes & the popsicles are about a buck cheaper a throw.
Save even more $$$ if you can commit to 10 of a given shape at a time.
Top & bottom stains vary, but quality is the usual top-notch BBS stuff.

Dims on these here fuckers are 9x32x14.5 w/ a 6.75 snout & a 6.5 ass.
With wood prices on the rise, I figured I’d be a financial ding-Dong not to lock in a low price for the next year (plus) of wider decks.
When my stack of 8.5s is burnt, I’m going back for a short box of the G86 to finish out my feasible skate life on since I’ve only got a few more productive years in me before I hang it up for a walker.

Just grabbed a pair of the NB# 425 in the rust and navy color way. Unfortunately it’s going to rain for the next week so I can’t skate them yet.

Bought a Jacuzzi 8" with a 14" WB. Kicks are a bit steeper than the crail wood I ride. Just bought some ventures along with a fabiana board. Gonna hate life for the next month or so.

Curious to hear how you find those compared to the usual Spitfire Formula Four, after riding Dial Tone wheels too.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Going through decks lately, so I ordered a couple 8.5 blanks from Dime’s web store, because it was the best deal I could find from an actual skate shop.  Not sure why my local doesn’t keep shop decks in stock, maybe they’re not profitable, but I wish they did.

my understanding is that shop decks are certainly profitable. i’ve enjoyed buying them for that very reason. my two favorite shops frequently stock shop
decks from generator, and lately from ps stix too. the generator boards, i like better than dlx. shop
graphics are nice too.

i like the pros too, good to spread it around.

Shop decks are definitely profitable. Some shops don’t like doing shop decks because although it makes perfect business sense, it does take away from the actual board brands. You sell less “pro” boards, those boards might sit, they become stale, you gotta put them on sales.

At my shop, we stopped doing shop decks because we got a bad run of boards during the pandemic from the woodshop we were going through.

So stoked on these Alltimers Fastbreaks.  They fit like a glove and I’m hyped to know Fastbreaks work for me.  These are super luxe, and the sole seems like it would wear down sort of quickly so I’m not sure I will skate in them.  Even more stoked now for my AS-1’s coming in the mail, which I’ve heard fit analogously.

Got some moment wildcats with the pivot 15 cast freetour system, and a ride warpig comin. Just got done more zipfit liners. Found out my coworker and her partner have the same snowskates as me

Basically just fastbreaks

Gonna get some CF chargers and longboard jessup and another flight 243 and more hollow af155's, maybe some stage fours with ace hards or something

Had some good luck with sales lately.
Each board 30€.
Vans Zahba Mids 50€ and the 1010's 65€.
Royal 144 Ultra Lights with ACE Bushings 50€
Bought the 480s on release but almost forgot I have them laying arround..
You can't buy happiness but you can buy a Skateboard.

I got that same color way as a random Christmas gift this year. I would have never bought vans for myself but I’ll bed damned if they aren’t the most comfortable vulcanized shoes I’ve ever worn. They are only chillers though. I only skate cup soles.
