while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

The loooong Grimple looks almost like a snowboard. How does it skate?
[close]

That’s a good question, I’m not sure I’ll find out. It’s WAY bigger and heavier in person, I’m not even sure it will fit in my trunk.

After watching the video of Simon Bannerot “skating” it, I sort of decided if that’s all he’s getting, I probably wouldn’t even be able to push around on it very successfully.

I’ve been a fan of all the wild grimple one off shapes and so I’ve tried to grab them when I’ve seen them. This’ll be a part of that collection for now

Unless you're trying to go down the megaramp or something that thing is pretty much unskateable, minus maybe an extremely high effort kickflip or slappy or boardslide for a laugh

Totally. Might set it up someday and take it down to the park to goof around with the homies but there’s no way I bought it thinking “I’m gonna session this thing”

Not exactly skate shit, but I went to the Alaska state fair yesterday to see weird al again(first time was 25 years ago in Michigan) and didn't expect to find this spitfire mug at the local skate shops vendor booth. Also got this leather wallet, a cheeseburger, two beers, a couple brass belt buckles, and got to pet lots of cute animals and see a guy play grateful dead stuff on a lap steel.

Hell yeah! Weird Al is the shit. I used to work in production and he is like the hardest working dude in show biz, pretty much had a wardrobe change for every song. He and his camp are super pro while being way easy going and always make time for the fans. Did you catch Puddles Pity Party by chance? Trippy and also a great performance. Love Alaska. This post got me stoked.

On topic, I got softer Dragons for my tricksy cruiser, went from 93a to 88a. Pretty much see Swiss 6 and OGs as interchangeable at this point but pick Swiss 6 if I have the option.

Missed puddles, I was trying to go a couple months back or so but we were too busy

Yeah weird al rules. He played two shows that day too, one at 2 and one at 6. Saw lots of folks wearing vans and aloha shirts. I regret not printing my own "uncle muscles" tee for it hahah

Swiss 6 and black bones are the only bearings for real

I was curious about those dragon 88's for my cruiser, I think I'm gonna go with Snakes though cause I can get 66mm, which is right on the borderline of still being able to do flip tricks and also able to ride on dirt trails

I think you can get g-bones in the 88d? Idk, I gotta have symmetrical wheels so I can rotate them

Picked up a couple of pairs of OGs because they were on sale for £19 each. Surprisingly less clownish/better on foot than I expected in a UK12 although the puffy tongue is definitely going to take some getting used to.

8.5 DBX eagle...

This'll be my winter, in the garage drilling flat ground flip tricks board. Learning/relearning shit I land stupid all the time and I get stuck where I'm always doing the same tricks cause I don't want to break my board

Gonna put Indy 149 standards and 56mm spitfire classics on it same as my regular setup. If anyone has any classic shape 56mm spitfires they've worn down to 48-52mm I'm interested also

Late ass reply here. Sounds like a good crowd, double header is a beast move. That concert series is really active and diverse.

The 88s are awesome but don't eat up everything. I'm looking for something like Superjuice that slide. Will likely end up with snakes or g-slides on the cruiser. Probably the 59mm.

Those Reeboks are dope as and bag of suck had me dying.

I have a set of 54 classics worn down to 48 or so (I didn’t measure but they’re smaller than 50 classics I have). If you want them lmk I just need to dig them out of storage

Just came back from holidays and I have this little "hack" of ordering some stuff while I'm out so by the time in back I have a little treat waiting for me at work.
S/O Pivot skateshop in Cologne for the lovely hand written letter and free Adidas t-shirt besides the stickers, candy and matches.

I overpaid for some flip hkd bearings from this "skateshop" in a small tattoo parlor in a small town. Thought I was getting an Indy deck of cards but once turned over they were red risers. I needed some bearings for my dirt bomber/cruiser. The ones in it are some randos I got from a longboard left at a tbell. Made my satoris look ugly. So a pretty successful venture, all things considered.

I’m not sure whether to skate the deck or hang it. Dennis McNett graphics never disappoint.

Those shoes are sick. I cant believe cons remove them from their line.
Same with vans sk8 low and mids
I really i could hear the reason behind those decisions.

Yea I got them really cheap and the color really grew on me. Love getting the sale colorways because they’re always a little odd.
