I miss the first editions of BATB, where they just included whoever was at the park that day. I remember being impressed by a lot of people's flat game.

Side note: it's funny that people last year wanted a Joe to upset the whole thing, but when Nick Holtz started doing just that, they wanted him out.

Is it hard to believe? Why would people knowingly voting to see who is in a game of skate vote for people not necessarily known for flatground skills. There is definitely a popularity contest going on but it's somewhat based on who is likely to contribute to a good game.

People complain about the "dumb" tricks that some of the Joes did last year, yet it was exactly "dumb" tricks that Koston used that took out Nick Holt (and then Sewa).

Originally they were supposed to have the Aberrica winner in but the way he won (doing all pressure flips) pissed the people off at the berrics so much they just put him on that list to get voted in. Which doesn't even matter because everyone who was in battle of aberrica got on that list anyway haha

Daewon said in some interview a while ago, that he doesn't want to enter batb because he could never achieve the ridiculous expectations people have for him.

The vote was full of shit, a cheap way to get some traffic on the site. Berrics is trying to make this into a sports event, but do even the kids care if the finalists are some random flatground fuckers that you can find from pretty much every skatepark
