Any of y'all skating the G045 shape? I just got a Breana Geering deck and I'm really digging it a lot.

They need to always stock the g069 and it would be awesome if they made it in 8 and 8.125 as well.  If they made it in a McCrank/Kennedy that would be the cherry on top.

What trucks do you all prefer on your girl twins?

Currently on the G096 on venture His but starting to think my thunder team hollows might be the move.

this is very good news for me!
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

I go back and forth between Thunder light and Venture standard. I’m thinking Thunder may be the move considering that both Crob and Malto prefer Thunder and those twins are centered around their skating. Probably going to go Thunder on my G052 for the same reason.

Well this is exciting!  Although I'm about to have some boards made so I may not be buying other ones after that point.  We shall see as I don't know how the process will go start to finish.

Trying desperately to put an hand on a mellow concave deck (IV) from Grimple Stix, I got back to the Chocolate 8,18 31,4 OG concave that are the best decks I rode so far.

Any of y'all skating the G045 shape? I just got a Breana Geering deck and I'm really digging it a lot.

I switched to G45 from G27 last year and love it. I think it’s the same mold cut different.

Geering graphics are consistently the best of crailtap.

There is also a dwindle shape that is super close to the G45, I don’t plan on riding anything other than those two anytime soon.

I just put another one together over the weekend and this one feels really short. Was skating a Jesus G026 (I think), to try a little wider at 8.125 but still w/ 14" wb and didnt like that one. Tail was really short and had quite a bit of ghost pop
Gonna give it another couple sessions to fully decide on this Breana board. Maybe I can find an 8.125 that is a bit longer so nose/tail won't be so short.

Has anyone ridden the g053 with Ventures?  Seems to be a highly regarded shape in here.  Just wondering if anyone could share how it pairs with Ventures.

Try and stand on a 27 when you can.

I think it’s the same mold as 45 but with a longer tail, and taper from 8.2 at the front bolts down to 8.

Thanks for suggestion. I did see that one up on Crail shapes and was curious.
Now probably have to try that one when I finally grind thru to axle on my trucks.

First session on a G023 yesterday after skating two Powell 242s.

I got so used to the mellow kicks on the Powell boards that the Girl feels steep to me right now.

Interested in trying the G026 to see how different it is, but also curious about the April & Primitive 8.125s.

Thats the 8.5 31.95 14.5 right? Do the tail and nose feel too short? I was curious as its the longest WB on a 8.5 and nervous that it was taking from the nose and tail

i’ve been into short tails. i might be open to a longer tail, now that i’ve been using bigger wheels.
you are correct, that is exactly how it works, the wb takes from the nose and tail.
i’ve been wondering if people that create the shapes focus on the length of the nose and tail, the overall length of the board, and then the wb just is what’s left over:

I recently looked at a G026 and was surprised it actually tapers down to about 8" at the rear truck. I personally think the G023 was a better shape, but I like straight rails. The old G028 shape was my favorite Girl shape of all time, but it looks like they're never bringing it back  :-\

The April 8.125" shape is really nice. Straight rails with a nice roundish tail and big nose. It actually measures 8.18" but is labeled as 8.125" for whatever reason.

April's 8.5" model is actually my favorite overall shape right now. Not sure if Guy Mariano had any input on designing that shape, but a lot of his models are that size. Back when Guy was still on Girl, his shapes were always my favorite, so I'm not surprised.

Loveseat riders, what does it measure over front and rear axle?

Wondering if 8.5 trucks work or if 8.75 would be better.
[close]

Nose is 8.75 and tail is 8.5 if I measured right. Looking through the setup thread, looks like most slappers are hovering between the 8.5-8.75. 8.75 is probably gonna be more stable while the 8.5 will most likely flip a bit faster/easier.

I'm currently on AF1 66s (9.0) with the loveseat and it's awesome, but the hanger doesn't fit well on the curbs I've been skating so I'm actually gonna size down to AF1 55s (8.5)

Couch riders, width over front and rear axle?

What shapes have the mellowest nose/tail kicks? Or are they all about the same? Currently riding the g052 and feels quite steep compared to a clutch deck I just skated.

That's my next setup. I was on the g027/g052 for the longest time. Loved the 14" WB. Trying to slim it down.

Currently on the G096 on venture His but starting to think my thunder team hollows might be the move.

I was on thunder hollow 8"ers. on the 069. Even when thunder extends the WB. Pop still feels light.

I was on the 052/027 for almost a year and a half. They both feel flat to me. I can't say all crail shapes feel flat. I've only skated the above mentioned and i'm skating the 008 right now. I feel the opposite. Just skated a clutch freedome board. A tad more steepness. Just enough for me to notice. Especially on the nose.

Word. The Toy Machine clutch deck I just rode had a mellow nose/tail. Measured them with a digital angel gauge. TM was around 19 degrees, Girl board was about 2 degrees more on both ends. I like flatter kick boards; ie Baker or DOA FAF. But I also like the straight rails on Crail boards. May check out April boards based on mentions in this thread.

Well ... I saw a new G069 came out and couldn't resist ... even though it was a pop secret and cost me $95.  Oof.  I am excited to see if single pressed makes a difference though and even though I wasn't excited on cost, I am excited on the shape and to see if that tech makes any difference at all.

single press does come in handy if you repeat setups
definitely helps with consistency

some of the best boards i’ve ever had have been toy machine boards, but that was long long ago. because they source from so many different options, i haven’t been interested in ordering online.
i think im just not into ordering decks on line at all.

relevant to the thread, if you like crail boards, they seem very consistent
