Looks like they retired the G039?  I no longer see it in the shape guide.

What is the difference between g052 and g089???
[close]

G089 has straight rails and a more tapered tail

Size is exactly same. So your saying no taper to the tail?
G052 and g027 go from 8.25 nose to like 8 tail.

That's what I didn't like about the G052. The tiny tail felt weird to me. Especially after doing some kind of shuv it trick.

The tail is long though.  You mean taper to 8" from 8.25?
Anyway i feel both g052 and 27 skate closer to 8 or 8.1 being tapred like that.

Yeah mate, the tail was something like 6.8 which felt a bit too long for certain tricks. Was nice for tailslides tho. But I didn't like the taper.

Has anybody noticed much difference in the way the G0018 and G045 skate?

What’s the difference between the loveseat and plus? Plus vs couch? I know the wheelbases and lengths are different, but how does it ride ?

I mostly want to cruise around, hit some curbs and some low key slides. I wanted a nice egg shape with somewhat mellow concave and short wheelbase.

I doubt you could tell the difference in most cases; the couch is a tad wider in the middle and the plus has a slightly longer wheelbase.
From my experience, they all have the same concave. For me the loveseat has been my go to for a minute, but I guess the extra 0.25 inch (which is nothing in the scheme of things) will make it more egg-ish?

I found the Loveseat and the Couch to ride quite different. I much preferred the Couch. The promotions and shape just worked better for me. I had several during Covid to mess around on flat and learned, re-learned a bunch of flip tricks. But ultimately a 13 7/8" WB was too tiny for me for anything but flat.

I'd honestly love to see a Couch with a 14.25" WB (A Couch Plus).

Crail needs more decks with a 14.25" wheelbase, especially in 8.25.

id definitely invest in a couch plus
sub 14” wb is silly for a one setup skater

Is the concave noted anywhere at all on the shapes?  Are they all pretty similar?

It's not listed in the shape guide; they've all always felt very medium concave, medium+ kicks.

The rail on the G089 is straight all the way down the rail. The rail on the G052 tapers gradually towards the tail. That's the biggest difference between the G052 and G089 shapes.

Thanks I stood on one recently and felt flatish compared to some of the BBS stuff I’ve been skating.

Does anyone now if crail uses a single or multi press? Could explain a lot compared to BBS.

I will say lots of the BBS boards I've been riding were pretty chunky (not the Deathwish stuff tho, quite the oppostie).

Anyone tried the new 8.8” Brophy shape (G068)? Big fan of the G033 (8.5”) but have been skating wider boards lately.

8.8” x 32.625”
WB: 14.75”
Nose: 6.925”
Tail: 6.75”

A Couch Plus would definitely be nice. I recently skated my Couch for a bit and I used to like it before but it felt way too stubby for me now.  I've been skating longer wheelbases lately so that might be that.

Malto talked about going to the factory in his Stop and chat and what i recall, he told that they are single pressed.

My understanding is the pop secrets are individually pressed, I don't believe the others are.  I could be totally wrong though

I watched chickety china and they show some of the factory but not much.  I thought there’s a clip out there…

This is six years old….

https://youtu.be/f7FKSDTkGxk?feature=shared

That said, I am possibly too dumb to figure it out….despite there being multiple boards, it’s single no?  Because they aren’t laid on top of each other?

They might update the shape guide over there. I think there were a few older shapes that they don't use anymore. I haven't seen that 8.18 shape in ages, think it was Yonnie's shape but ya all know how that went with him. And the newer Malto 8.25 G089 shape wasn't on that site either. Real question is, when will there be a 8.25 shape with a 14.2 wheelbase. Basically a G089 with a slightly shorter tail and a bit longer wheelbase.

So bizarre. That’s the best thing about the Crail site and one of the reasons I pick up girl boards a few times a year. Nice to be able to reference all the shapes and dimensions. I wish DLX had a comprehensive shape guide!

I noticed they hadn’t updated the guide with a few of the new shapes like Malto’s and the Loveseat Plus. Hope this isn’t the demise of the Crail shape guide!

they also went to all the trouble to say they now ship overseas but when I put my address into their site it automatically finds it and then says they can’t post there 🤔

The quality on Crail boards is definitely there. I want to like them so bad, because they’re super solid and feel well built.

Dimensions wise the g030 should be perfect for me, and for some tricks it is… but some tricks are so damn hard to pop well. Could be the combo of Af1, but certain go to tricks for me were just so hard… sw heel, nollie heel, shit like that. On the flip side, switch Kickflip tricks work well.

Could also be that my muscle memory on switch heel tricks is used to having some more concave… who the hell knows.

Anyone have success with af1/crail combos in that 8.3/8.4/8.5 zone?
I recently switch from 4 years of FA but wanted to quit square boards… had two polar 8.3 (6.9 nose/6.6 tail one) in a row and that seems the best with the af1 so far but I’m still experimenting.

As long as g052 is still in production we cool
