I am one of those people who finds something I iike, and then sticks with it for a long time. DLX has taught me to never try any of their "novelty" products, because it will prolly be gone in short time...and it sucks to find something you like, only have it quickly vanish.
And to be honest / fully transparent, I don't really even ride DLX decks any more. I don't flip my board that much any more these days, and am feeling comfortable on something a bit wider/bigger. Really been loving 8.5/14.5, and that has inexplicably always been a total blind spot for DLX (along with a proper 8.25/14.25).
I always keep thinking of the Real Ishod 8.5 twin with 14.5 wb, along with the Full SE shape, which is 8.25 with 14.25 wb there, but both those are NOT what I would consider to be regular / normal board shapes, so I know it doesn't really count, even though I have one of each and they still skate fine for what they are.
It is pretty funny cause on one hand I will go through phases of only skating the DLX 8.38 shape, but then I also have the generic BBS 8.5 shape on the go, along with the DLX 8.75 shape which are all so good with the back truck drilled in a couple of mm to make it 14.3 to 14.4 on the 8.38 and 8.5 shapes, or 14.5 or so wb on the 8.75 shape, when I just want to have a fairly easy roll around a park or where ever.
Some people say they feel too mellow or weird, but I think I am used to them now and they make everything a whole lot easier for me, especially the bigger boards with not quite so long wheelbases.
Maybe I should have left this in the madness thread, but really with all the DLX shape talk going on, I am still mostly on DLX wood, even if I do change things up a bit, but it is easier to modify the trucks, over changing every deck I ride.
