Wasn't Ryan Smith 'getting up there' when he turned pro??  I think he was somewhere between 25 and 30 for sure.

I'm turning 30 in a couple months, hoping to be flow by 35, am at 40, pro at 43, legend status at 46. Started staking when I was 11.

Keegan Sauder has to be up there. He also may have had the shortest pro career. He had a board for like two seasons I think.

He still has pro boards on Blood Wizard but yeah his being pro on Zero didnt last long at all.

Your signature says it all: Al Davis. Fuckin' 30 when his board came out.

Not sure, but I think Mike Rusczyk was 35 when his pro board for Foundation came out, so he could be the oldest.

According to this Foundation post, he turned pro in 2006 (there's a picture of his board in the Read More link): http://www.foskco.com/blogpost/1510/mike+rusczyk+pro+board+review/

And according to the Skatepark of Tampa, he was 37 in 2008 : http://skateparkoftampa.com/spot/sk.aspx?ID=1098

Like the dude above said, pretty sure Ron Allen was 25-30 when he turned pro in the 80's.
Tony ferguson was pretty old too from memory when he turned pro for girl
I think he was older, but didn't him and Jeron go pro right around Mouse, I think he may of been older compared to when the other guys on the team got the bump but way younger then guys like Castillo and Heyl (who both basically got the bump for years of service and not anything they were putting out at the time.)

too much

Just curious what the latest age some guys have been given the pro nod? I know Marquise Henry and Al Davis are up there (Correct me if I'm wrong). At what age do you give up trying to make it and get a 9-5?

You should give up as a teenager and get a job then. Skateboarding is not basketball like people dream of getting in the NBA. And it's incredibly stupid to try and dream of a career in skateboarding because there are SO MANY homies getting fucked. Notice how it's totally controversial when someone turns pro nowadays? Notice how diy videos are hot shit? Yeah because the industry is fucking fucked. It's literally ride channel and thrasher, way below them is the berrics and hella clips.....the rest of the game is pretty much equal for the most part.

Louie Barletta, Ron Allen. Silas was kinda older also right?
I think Ron Allen turned pro around 89-90, which he would've been around 25. I also think he's lying about his age as is closer to 55 than 52 so he would turned pro around 27 years old.

Was hanging out with Ron Allen earlier today and thought of this thread. Said he turned pro for H-Street back in 1987 at the age of 25 - which was pretty old at that time in skateboarding.

Shane Heyl turned pro in his mid thirties I think. He's probably the oldest.

I refuse to go along with baker turning him pro, he's been doing the same noseslide on a ledge and battling chicken wing addiction line for 15 years.Best thing they ever did was take his board away and give riley one.
