'I think a lot of people are just waiting to see if like, does this dude really got it, or is he like, just a flat ground kid."

Couple standout tricks in there like the bluntslide bigspin heelflip pop out. But the rest of it to me was just, 'eh.' For a guy trying to prove he's not just a 'flat ground kid' I don't think he did a very good job.

Credit where credit is due though... he is heaps better than I am.
I feel that in this day and age, kids need trick managers.
Helping them out by saying "Just because you can do every single trick...doesn't mean that you should".
Case in point.... Creager.

More exposure = more $$, if the dudes aren't already getting something just to participate, á la Street League (anyone know?)

Legit thought I was watching sewa kroetkov at certain points, specifically with the flip-tricks out of manuals

Thought the part was sick though, dude can make some crazy tech shit look half-decent

Is this really a contest?

And who's was the last manual type skater that people have been hyped on? Dude reminds me of a Joey Brezinski.

I shouldn't have watched that Youness Chronicles extras clip before this.  Rendered this shit null and void.

Except Brezinski is unbelievably talented, Cody has a lot of work to do before he can gain respect as a real pro.

There was one trick I really liked but I already forgot it. Not a single gap, rail, or set. Switch it up every now and then. I'm not saying stair count but ledges/pads get borong after a couple minutes

Even with the berrics fully backing him this doods going nowhere in professional skating imo.

He seems a little delusional

He looks like a mexican matt shnurr on crack that just picked up a board a year ago( no offence to matt schnurr)

I always though it was kinda cool how stone faced and nonchalant he was playing SKATE at the berrics. But of course that doesn't look or translate well in a street part.

I tried skipping to the part, but it seems like it was mostly talking and older footage.

I personally can't hate on him despite not liking his skating at all.
I hate the idea of treating skateboarding like a job a la other sports, but it's totally understandable looking at it from his perspective, I have the privilege of not having to choose between skateboarding and work at a sugar factory.  Hopefully he can ride the wave as long as he can...

So, so good... the "no offence to Matt Schnurr" really sealed the deal for me.
Thank you.

This.
He has some Ben Fisher vibe doing his tricks (different clothes but still some similar approach). I think Cepeda needs to find more creative spots because he is technically good, but good technique on boring spots is not interesting while his technique on original spots would be really enjoyable.

Yeah because being a pro skater or working in a sugar factory are the only options  ::)

No lines in there. I'm not talking the two clips with set up flat ground tricks followed by a ledge trick and there was one clip with 2 ledge tricks:0
I thought this guy was supposed to consistent?

his style has improved a lot, but why no wacky tricks? since he's gonna get hated on anyway i woulda liked to see him try some stupid shit like switch 540 lazer to 5-0 on a bench or something. Switch double flip crooks. at this point, why not?

wild differences between the skaters in this, i think thats pretty cool. but o yeah fuck mtn dew.

the "ghetto bird" fakie nosegrind caught me by surprise.
Dude should be hanging out with "creative" skaters taking him to weird spots.

Exactly...Dude can easily turn it up a notch...After watching that I don't think he is such a big issue to bitch about.

How is it I already saw this shit months ago minus the skate part?
It was his hometown come up and me watching thinking this skate career won't pan out, you're better off working the sugar factory getting in the union, getting some fat chick pregnant and buying a house..

But no. This guy is trying to make a "career", man am at best for a low tier company if he is lucky, nollie inward heel to booger slide at jkwon..

Its like his duffle bag of videos. He is Guy kampfen. He's like that Manual Labor video.
You would only watch it to see what the craziest, nbd gross tech done was.

Not a single clip of that will make anyone psyched to go out and skate.

Just stop filming, enjoy yourself on your board and go get a real job.

Gotta agree, he needs to just enjoy himself and get a job.  Hardly any lines, whole part just seemed mediocre at best.  Especially after the over dramatic episodes leading up to his part.

Everyone saying "Go back to your day job" and shit like that, I got some news that will probably bum you out.

Berra's starting a board company called Sovereign, its going to have Cody, Mikey Taylor, and a few other people. Theres a promo that's supposed to be dropping somewhat soon. Apparently Codys going pro for them.

Wow that sounds fucking stupid honestly, a trick manager?
