Was trying my best last night to watch both events on two different laptops. Didn't get home till around 9:30 central time and was a bit more focused on boxing. I was a bit bummed on Isaac Cruz's performance, I've really enjoyed watching him every time I've seen him. He put some heat on a lot of those punches, but still felt like he should've been able to finish that dude. Split decision is insane though. Crawford really won me over with his performance. That was a hell of a beatdown.
Caught the final 3 UFC events, tuned in right as they announced the winnter of Green/Ferguson. Didn't catch the Ferg fight, but it's truly sad to see these legends washed up like that. I'll give it to Tony, All of his fights have been against killers(except for maybe Diaz lol), But good lord, pay these guys enough so that they aren't getting paid for brain damage.
I was halfway watching the Jan/Alex fight and it didn't look like Jan was doing a whole lot of damage while he was in control? I really like both guys, but wasn't paying enough attention to have an opinion on whether Jan got robbed. Looked like close enough of a fight to me.
Lewis fight was fun, a lot of these heavyweight fights feel like a spectacle more than a sport sometimes lol.
Main event was a banger. I liked seeing the respect between the two guys. Trash talk can be fun, but it gets old after a while. Admittedly, I loved the Diaz brothers, but I"m just burnt out seeing all the headlines for trashy comments about fighters families. What a shot by Gaethje, and good restraint by not pummeling his unconscious face in.
All in all, best night of combat sports I've watched in forever. I was legit glued to both screens and holding my piss in so I wouldn't miss anything.
