i have a pair of canvas cambys, i wanna skate them, but with the amount of shoe goo its gonna need i think its gonna be too slippery. any tips?

had two pairs of the campy in canvas! lasted me over a month, sole was still pretty stable. but i gotta say i am not too hard on the upper of a shoe, and a little superglue after every session or two did the job!

i got a hole after a day of cruising. not sure what you were doing with them.

Some people just skate like that. My buddy would just never get tears in his shoes from flip tricks somehow. Hell I have a pair of miners he used to skate in my closest still and there's barely a scratch on them.

This is what I usually do with my canvas shoes, made a post about it when I used to blog. Throw a piece of suede on the inside, it's the cleanest looking method and surprisingly doesn't feel uncomfortable. If you're a vegan, you can use a thick patch of canvas on the inside instead of suede. I have a vegan friend who uses this method and he actually makes his own inside patches with several layers of canvas bonded together with Shoe Goo for strength.

Ahaha I don't know man. The thought of sitting down in front of the computer and piecing together a post on a regular basis just isn't that appealing anymore.

Hmmmm what kind of money are we talking here? Let's talk terms. Or I could just start writing for Jenkem and have secret meetings with Street League where they fly me out to write an article about it that people are supposed to believe is making fun of it.

See, this is the stuff we need written about. Figures can be discussed.

Watson:  just do the Soonies each year.

I've thought about it. The Soonies were always sooooo much typing though. And also I don't follow skating nearly as much as I used to, which is not to say that I don't follow skating anymore, but I'm just not as obsessed with it anymore. Honestly I've planned on doing so many posts, I get an idea, I've even sat down at the computer and opened the blogger window, but when it comes time to start typing it I'm just so over it.

I think I've even typed out rough posts and e-mailed them to myself planning to later clean them up and post them but then I just lose the urge.

Stoked there's still people who want posts though. Very flattering.

skating in canvas is weird after skating suede for so long. i got the match court mids and skated in them for an hour or so tonight. feels like the canvas has gotta break down and flop out a bit before the shoe reaches it's potential. aside from that i'd say the shoe is a pretty damn good one, the toe cap and stripes are placed well enough where i'd usually start to get a hole from ollies but there's just a bit of wear on one of the stripes.

I got those too....and I plan on crazy gluing between the first two stripes for heel flips.....

Yeah as thin as canvas shoes are....they take time to break in....

Whether you are looking for a good canvas prints go visit https://www.frameshop.com.au/custom-picture-frames. Here you can find many different canvas prints, also there is a bunch of information about this style of painting, for example: sizing information (image size, visible size, glass size, outer size), glass information (clear glass, clear Perspex, non-reflective glass, uv clear glass, uv non-reflective glass). As you can see the variety impresses. So take your time and take a look at this one! I am sure you’re gonna like this style and technique!

Only when It's all I have to,  I hate em. Even if I find some for less than 20 bucks I rarely cop,, still do half a tub of glue on my high wear areas.  My homie swears by them and he goes through a pair of shoes every 2 weeks

skated these twice. they both lasted 2-3 months each. they held up pretty well and skated better than the suede cons onestar slips

Love canvas shoes. Love the NB 212/213 as they are 90% canvas but with some suede in the crucial areas. not great if you are tying to avoid animal products but they did do an 'animal friendly' version recently. i really don't know why more shoe companies don't do more canvas shoes with some form of rubber/ synthetic suede combos in the high wear areas....

Canvas doesn’t bag out like animal hides but if you’re harsh on your shoes (unlike me), you probably go through double the amount. Personally I’d prefer if brands went with more hemp/ synth hybrids like I-path used to do

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

I skated about four pairs of canvas Gravis Filters (damn I miss that shoe) and they were some of the best shoes I've ever skated. I just shoe gooed a small canvas patch on the ollie area and they were good to go.

I like how canvas doesn't stretch out a bunch. Nothing quite flicks like suede, but minimalist suede shoes turn into floppy moccasins in a hurry.

I prefer skating in canvas for the extra strength and shape the shoe keeps compared to suede getting floppy over time.
the only downside for me is i usually have to wear a thinner sock for canvas shoes and can get away with a thicker sock with suede.
