Anybody get the new black and gum 480 lows yet? If so how’s the fit on em? I have the brown Reynolds and they kinda fit a little big on me could’ve probably gone down a half size, was wondering if these current runs of 480s are fitting the same for others

I have both and the fit is the same on me. I have a few other colorways too and the black/gum are my favorite now.

@rothdigga any idea what's good with Canadian shop releases for the Reynolds 480's? Haven't seen any Canadian shops post about them, and the Canadian NB site says they go on sale on Monday, but I'd rather buy them from my local if they're coming, even if I'd have to wait a bit longer.

Working class from New Brunswick (coincidentally also NB haha) posted a story of them

I really wanna try the 480s but no matter what I do, my heel slips in these shoes. I've sized down half a size and I've even tried a full size down to see if it would stop the slip, but still heel slipping.

Is this a break in issue or is my foot just weird?

The only ones that slip for me are the first blue and white ones with leather inside the collar. All of the other colorways that I have (Reynolds, tan/green, black/gum) use the fabric/mesh inside the collar and have been fine. I think those first colorways were closer to the non-numeric version and remember maybe reading that here too. Shoe nerd stuff.

I've been going back and forth between Dunks and 480s between sessions and there is a night and day difference in the grip level. The 480 grip is amazing, as others have mentioned.

Edit: the runners loop or whatever it's called helps quite a bit on the slippy ones but doesn't completely cure it for me.

Our shop in Canada got the Reynolds 480 and they sold out overnight online. Lots of first time purchasers very similar to Dunk purchasers. Might even be bots, hard to tell.

Did not expect that. I think we have a few more pair arriving soon.

Those 480s didn’t last long lol. Kinetic didn’t have my size. @rothdigga do these come in 14 and will they be available on NB’s site eventually?

It’s nice to see that Reynolds name can move shoes. That’s a good sign for his signature model.
We almost always do a Monday release on NB.com and let the shops do their releases on the Friday before, same with this one.  NB.com should have them go up Monday AM sometime and they do indeed have open pairs of size 14 for these so I expect you to find them once they go up.  Not a ton of pairs of 14, but enough that they won't go in the first 5 min I assume.  Hope that helps

They should be trickling into your local shop any day now I would assume.  Some will miss the actual release today but the banger shops should have them at some point I'm guessing.  Hopefully you can snag them from a skate shop up there or online skate shop.

600 fit me so much better than 440v2 lows. Man those things are way too snug in the toes.

Agree totally, I posted earlier in this thread asking how the 440v2 fits compared to the 440v1 - the consensus here was they fit just the same. I asked because I own two pairs of 440v1 in US 11.5 and they fit perfectly, and I'm always cautious having been burned before size wise with model changes from other brands. Anyway, I bought the 440v2 in US 11.5 and they were tiny, felt like a size 10 and totally unwearable - just too short and narrow, and tiny in the toebox. They were so off I was going to just return them and not bother trying to go up a half size, as I thought even a half size was going to be off, and maybe a full size up was needed, and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of what might be more trial and error. I did go up a half size to a US 12 and they fit perfectly, so was worth it in the end.

I guess everyone's feet are different - and general consensus sometimes isn't much help if you have weird feet ha. For this reason I think maybe these new models people are interested in are going to cause people problems if having limited or no ability to go up or down half a size in some regions.

They got my size, but good lookin’ out! Thanks to whoever said Working Class, also. They don’t have them online yet, but I’ll keep an eye out.

Thank you for the info! Just assuming that my local is a banger shop, and no one can tell me any different.

gotcha. Yeah there are no 13.5 to half size up. Short and narrow toebox, overall tiny toebox like you said. Surprising. Have some wooden shoe trees in there for a week+ hopefully that helps..

Speaking of 1010, it feels like the newest versions of the 1010 run a tad smaller than earlier incarnations.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but my recent pair in the usual size is leaving me no room in the toe box.

I ordered a pair of the newer white leather 1010s but I am curious how they will fit me. The first run of the 600 fit me well, although I don't like the ortholite insole in them. I wanna use another insole in the 600 and 1010.

No 10.5 is a pretty big deal breaker. Months ago, the only shop near me that was carrying the numeric 480 had an owner who happened to be 10.5 and was buying them for himself. I tried to make the 11 work but there was just no way. Real bummer.

I haven't noticed this. But the ones with the mesh toebox fit me slightly better (a little more toebox room) and break in slightly quicker than the ones with suede or leather on the toebox. The latter keeps its structure for a little longer though

Do you guys mean the mesh on the top of the toe box? I always thought all models have mesh there. These are the two most recent colorways and it looks like mesh on the top there?

Damn wish I had found this out two days ago. I just pulled the trigger on a pair of the green 440 V2’s.

Might have been answered before but does anyone have word on 480’s coming in 2E width ever? The standard size just kills my feet way to snug even a half size up. Would love to wear them all the time.

Hope this isn't the case cause I bought a new pair in an older colorway from a slap pal and they are the most amazing skate shoe ever. I want to keep skating this shoe from here on out after I blow through the first pair.

Once broken in it’s not as bad, but I like space for my big toe. Feels like these newer versions are really pushing it to the limits.

FWIW my feet are different sizes, so you may be fine in your experiences.

I am not sure if I like the fit of 1010s. The 306 and 600 fit well, no heel slip in them. In the 1010 I have a bit of heel slip on both feet. And for 110 bucks I should be really sure if I wanna keep them. And I don't have baggy enough pants for these I think.

New Balance in New Zealand are killing off skate shops here. There is a website here called hyperride.co.nz where Numeric shoes often sell for about $25 us dollars. The seem to buy in bulk and sell them for cheap. I have been guilty of buying off them before and I have stocked up. Who wouldn't when I can get four pairs for the price of one?
Meanwhile we have had skate shops sit on stock for months trying to sell shoes at regular prices. They even pay more at wholesale for the shoes. People just wait until cheap shoes pop up in the website.
It's not really helping the brand here as new styles don't sell and it cheapens the product image.
I don't own a skateshop but have been supportive towards one local for decades.
Do you know anything about this Rothdigga? I'm sure numeric is not wanting skates shops to close down?
They laughed when I told my friends that I was going to be a comedian.....well they are not laughing now!

Yeah you're right. Which skateshop stocks vans skate authentic anyway? Vans has sucked the life out of itself years ago. Spread itself so thin. I think they are paying for it now. It's a race to the bottom and all skateboard shops are getting dragged with them.
