Yo, I’m about to buy some NB# 212’s. Can anyone give me the run down on them?

Sizing? What’s the width like? I have wide feet. (See Username)

I usually only skate Vans. Slip-On Pros are my favorite. But I’ve skated a lot of Vans. I’m a 10.5, no matter what shoe in Vans.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Yeah, on the 212's just go a 1/2 size down.  You're a 10.5 in Vans and other stuff, just snag a 10 and you should be good.  212's are rather wide for a vulc shoe so hopefully those will fit your foot shape.
The 212/213 are the only shoe I have to size down in for any of the Numeric stuff.  I know others on here have different experiences but that's mine.  I skate the 440's and 288 Sport mostly now.

The leather 440's are such an upgrade over the suede models. Seems like the ollie wear area holds up so much better on that seam.

Thanks dude! I’m going with the 10.5 though. My feet are so wide and I’ve tried on a ridiculous amount of shoes. And 10.5 usually is the size I need. I tired on some 10 NB# at an outlet once and needed a 10.5.

Grabbed a pair of the 440s on sale, think I’ll like them after break in.

Super stiff new compared to what I’m used to (adidas, Vans, old 288s). For me they fit a hair larger than size & slightly narrow across the toe box.

My experience as well. I really liked the slim, narrow fit but I thought the 440s were just a little long in the toe box, fairly rigid all around, and I didn’t think the board feel was anything special.

Those Tiagos are looking sick. Need to see those other colourways as clear.

While I am here, my dream shoe would be a more skate friendly 990V5, maybe a cup sole like the court cups, in the classic grey. Here's a doodle...

I’m still positive overall on my 913s but my worries about the tread not being very deep seem to be coming true. I’ve only had mine for 2 months of mild skating during quarantine and the ball of my foot is looking like it’ll be about another month or 2 until the tread is bald. The shoe looks new otherwise.

I only wear my skate shoes skating and it’s not unusual for me to have a pair last 9 months to a year. Little disappointed they’re wearing so quickly on year old Jessup.

Funny, Jamie’s shoe looks more round than it does pointy (or square for that matter) to me. I don’t like pointy, though. Flips shitty for me.

I think this is my last 533 V2 I have left. After these, I will wait for the Tiago shoe.

I would definitely skate a skate version of the 990. Mostly to piss my girlfriend off, she hates it when I wear my 990s.

You must not skate very much. I go through a pair of 913's in a month.

No, I don’t get to skate much. That was part of my point: that I’m halfway through the tread of a shoe that I barely wear in a comparatively shorter time than I would a pair of Emericas.

I would not call the 306 pointy at all! it is quite round with a very slight taper.

It is a good shoe for those with wider feet but I would not get another pair, not nearly enough cushioning for me and I generally do not like vulc shoes.

Will not be buying anything but cupsoles from now on, waiting for those Tiagos!!

Glad you commented on the cushioning. I had looked at these and thought they might work for me. For some reason I had decided they had some decent cushioning, despite their vulc construction

ya, they are no better than some vans really.

The tongue and collar area and fit is good but the only cushioning you get is from the insole.

Otherwise it's just thin rubber underneath.

Surprised Big boy Foy wouldn't want more cushion.

Yeah I dunno how some people do it (re: lack of cushioning).
That being said I really want a pair of authentics, even tho I know it’s gonna suck/hurt.
The 212s also looked great, for wide footers. Same problems no doubt

This is the first and only NB numeric I've tried...

Other than the lack of cushioning, the 306 is a good shoe, comfortable, durable, skates well.

I was interested in the 913 or 533 but will be waiting for Tiago 1010 now, also cuz he is my fav pro!!

I meant the 913 and 440 had sort of a squared off toe, whereas the 306 is smoothly tapered all around.

anyway the 288s is, for me the best so far from nb. only shoe from them I've been able to skate decently well right from the first session. Think I could get down with this one long term, finally.

Ohh ok I see what you mean now

Ya the 913 toe does look square in comparison
