That’s just excess glue when they glue the sole to the upper. More visible since the color of the shoe is brown/tan.

A lot of my 533 v2 has a lot of excess glue in the same area. It wasn’t as noticeable on the black colored heel area compared to the brown one.

Could be blamed on the quality control of the manufacturing process.

Anyone else have issues with the stitching on the suede toe piece blowing out fast on the 440s? Love the shoe but was bummed how quick I blew through the stitching.

Throw a little super glue on the seam out the box and they're good. Skated 6 pairs and they're my fav NB# shoe by far.

I wear 8 on everything but NB# which I've always skated 0.5 size bigger so that's an 8.5. Skated both 255 and 440 on 8.5

roth have the 420's changed at all within the last year? i had a few pairs back when they were fairly new; they're pretty much indestructible tanks but they kind of hurt my feet
any plans for more vegan skate shoes? so many new balances are sooo close to being vegan minus a suede ollie patch/logo

I grabbed some 255s today and I’m hyped. Anybody know if they have the same outsole as ye old 345s?

I have the limited edition 4.20 ones in green and they seem to have a different insole as opposed to the OG ones in that they actually have arch support. 420s also come in two types of materials; the tougher rubber style ones and they faux suede ones. The rubber ones tend to be stronger but may dig into your foot in the flex points etc. the faux suede ones work better for me, esp with grip tape flick

I agree though, NB could capitalize more on this market. Man if you guys did a vegan west gate shoe, I’d be all over that!!!

I went with a 8.5 (TTS). If I would have gone a .5 size up I would have too much room in the toe box. I could see going .5 if you have a wider, flat foot. I have a narrow foot with a higher arch.

Yeah, I don’t like leather shoes but I rather have them than the black suede pair.

As seen in the sale gear thread where it seems everyone bought a pair including myself for $22.

This 440 is $22 each. I went true to size, size 9.

I want to pull the trigger on the 1010's but am worried they might be too bulky for me. Will have to wait till I see them in person.

I don’t recognize the model. It looks like a runner from 2008, which is cool with my nerdy dad ass.
