Ya all lace the 1010 to the top lace or leave one out? My homie wears kinda slim pants and laced his 1010s to the top. It didn't look bad honestly. I always thought you had to leave the top lace out with the 1010s
I leave one out, laces are way too short on 1010 for me.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Franky 417 mid - anyone know if I should order true to size? Reviews on NB say they were too small/tight and to order half size up and then weartest review says to go half size down.

I'm a small UK8 I guess but buy an 8 in vans, blazers etc.

Should I get the same for the Franky's?
[close]
TTS. Same as in Blazers

Awesome, thanks for the replies everyone. Will order tts and they're half price currently on NB so might get another pair if I get on with them

I came here to post about how there are so many new balance shoes I want to skate but can’t because of heel slip, only to find the last page of the thread was all about heel slip. Glad I’m not the only one with this problem.

The only shoe I can skate is the 440v2. 480 slips in my true size and half down. 306 slips the same for both sizes and 1010 slip in my true size. Maybe it’s a break in thing but I’m not risking my money if the slippage doesn’t go away…

It’s a good thing 440v2 are damn near perfect   ;D

I remember when I was younger, and all I skated was cupsoles, they all slipped at first. After breaking in, it went away.

I had like 7 pairs of èS Accel’s, and they all slipped at first.

To each their own though. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about heel slip in NB# also. Except the 1010. I skated the 1010 and didn’t have any problems. Really good shoe. Although, I think they changed the padding in the heel recently, if I remember correctly. You’ll have to fact check me on that

I must be fortunate. I have not had any heel slip with any NB# I have had, including the 480 and 440 1 and 2 amongst others.

I get heel slip in the 808 and 1010 if I don’t lace them up all the way. I also size them down a 1/2 size.

Dear NB#, could you please put decent lenght shoelaces on the 808 and 1010? Thanks.

Dear NB#, could you please put decent lenght shoelaces on the 808 and 1010? Thanks.

Curious, as I find them sufficenitly long enough to tie them super tight/cranked (on the 1010s to combat heel slip) if needed.

How much more do you need? Are you double knotting them? Wearing them laced 'wide' as is the intent (specically the 808 here)?  1010 seems to be a 'normal' lacing setup with the 808 being laced wider as you reach the top for that 90s look (not saying you shouldn't be able to tightening normally of course).

Just "normal" I guess but I could use like 10 cm more if I want to tie them all the way up

My friend has feet shaped like potatoes and does fine with the 1010 lace length what are you doing with em to need more?

I will say that my old 440 high came with comically long laces.

i would agree that the laces could be a bit longer. i'm double knotting and have them pretty cinched up and i don''t have much to work with my pair

I have about 7-8 or more different 480 since the og orange.
Also have varied amounts of 1010’s

One absolute is each damn shoe release is almost completely different shoe. The latest black suede and white suede are either longer or wider or both, not sure, but I don’t mind it just different .  The original orange shoe was so sticky though never had a blue sole so grippy. Sometimes I loved that shoe sometimes I thought it was breaking my foot. lol. I never wore my og Reynolds more then trying them on which seemed large when I did. Black and silver suede were tight at first . Haven’t tried the brown /pink ones on all the way.

The first suede pack brown green was my favorite and best for me,  feel like slippers, I  also love the lakers green addition feels solid, the first all white black sole I liked but seemed taller , the blue trail pack is comfy but at the first lace it’s stitched tighter and my pinkie toe has rubbed a hole inside (only one) .

Sucks I had to buy them all because no one local has them all .

But just like the 1010 I remember, liking some , some too tight and others too big and loose and every shoe was same size!!! 😂😂😂😂🙃🙃🙃

I agree with your NB madness and I have had a similar experience. I absolutely love NB and wanted to support them more than any other shoe brand but after completely losing my mind over shoes I moved on. It just seems like every pair/colorway you buy you dont know what you're getting.

I moved back to Vans Sk8 Hi. Been on these since Feb of this year. I enjoy buying these knowing I get the same experience with each pair.

.....This of course wont stop me on at least trying Reynolds pro model though haha

The idea itself is so awesome I'd buy them for the that reason only if I was into bulkier shoes.

I would guess since the 11.5 aren’t listed either it’s either a victim to same issue for the Reynolds 480 or it’s a copy/paste issue from creating the page Reynolds 480 (but I have zero knowledge of building webpages so that could be a silly suggestion)

Saw that the new 480 Reynolds colorway was in Zumiez. I did not expect that.

Was that a one-off, or will we be seeing more stuff like that in Zumiez in the future?

I did notice a lot of NB# in Zumiez, which is great. That supports the team, and everyone behind the scenes. I just hope it stays on the more core root, with special colorways/drops not being available at a local shop

You guys are most likely both right. I've had two 1010s with completely different stock lace lengths. My first ones laced on teh way to the top with plenty of lace left and the second barely was tieable at one hole down from top. I prefer them to be more generous with length. I can always burn off the excess with a lighter.

I notice i ripped laces on the 808s way faster then on the 1010s. Im guessing the rounder, bulkyness of the 808 is why. I love both these models so much, the Roland colab i want but wouldnt skate. Id love to see a colab with the 1010 as well

Yea...fuck Zumiez, avoid those assholes if you can...
-they shipped my shoes separately from two different wherehouses a week apart (why)
-still charged my for my expedited shipping that took a week
-No fucking sticker in the second pair ordered (obviously someone at zumiez took it)

Other that size 11.5 and 12 fits fine...

Alright I’m not defending Zumiez but…

1. Zumiez keeps all your favorite brands afloat with their giant bulk order numbers.

Did @rothdigga know I shouldn’t be buying more shoes and thus didn’t order any 808 x Roland in size 11.5 from the factory?

Same as the Reynolds 480 as stated above, both that shoe and the Roland 1010 were on the same factory order and there was a mixup where no 10.5's and 11.5's were made for those 2 shoes.  Sucks but it does happen sometimes and I didn't find out until it was WAY late in the process so we had to just go with it.

NB# is the worst of all. I'd wear D3s before I ever put those fuckin grandpa shoes on my feet.

Youd probably skate like a grandpa with D3s on
