Random one that I've been curious about - what's Tom Knox's connection to Lost Art? I thought he was from London, so seems random that his shop has always been Lost Art in Liverpool instead of something like Slam City in London. Anyone?

Maybe a Dave Mackey epmdave thing?    Looks like the Jacob Harris edit is dropping tomorrow

What's the midfoot on the 600s like? I can't skate the 480s because it's super narrow around the arch/mid. Might grab the lost arts if they're not as narrow.
[close]

Hmm I wear tts on the 600s and got a whole size down in the 480s, but think the 600s might be more narrow.  It feels fairly form fitting as a shoe

Guess I'll have to go try em on in store, every other nb# has been fine but the aggressive mid/arch on the 480s killed me and made me paranoid about choosing my next pair lol.

Don’t give up on the 480s. Your problem might be the Abzorb insoles. The Chocolate 480s shipped with alternate Ortholite insoles like what they use in the 808s. Those make for a much more comfortable fit.

That arch murders me too it’s gnarly. I found that if you switch the insole out for a completely flat one like the chocolate insoles they made the arch issue mostly goes away. It’s that absorb insole is not great.

Ha I missed this response. Agreed on the abzorb insole sucking. I wish they made the alternative flat ortholite insoles available for every pair or something.

Hey can anyone confirm here that the leather 600’s fits  different than the suede/mesh 600s? I saw somewhere that someone here mentioned the suede ones fit tighter than the leather

Thanks !

Only leather I’ve worn is the release pair.  I don’t remember a significant difference post break-in

I have had 5 pairs so far and 9 on ice and the leather are stiffer at first but wear in nicely. Love both types.

Leather 600 are horrible.
Suede 600 are amazing.

Thanks for the advice! I'll see if I can find a flatter insole and give them another try.

I actually like the leather ones once they've been properly broken in. Break-in time with the suedes is shorter or pretty much nonexistent.

From Premier in Grand Rapids: “New Balance Numeric has teamed up with Hong Kong's 8FIVE2 Shop to create the latest 480, dressed in suede and leather earth tones.”

@rothdigga - Are these dropping anywhere else? They’re all sold out at Premier.
I see we sold these to the following stores:
303
35th Ave
Blue Flowers
Board of Provo
Central Boardshop
Crooks
Escapist
LB Skate
Kinetic/Noc
No Comply
Non Factory
Premier
Recess
Satellite
Pharmacy
Civil
Surfin Bird
Transport
Hope that helps a little bit.  NB.com should have them also but as usual, please lean on those guys above to get them.

Finally got my first pair of 1010s in and I guess I can see what everyone is talking about with the comfort. I got true to size but my pinky toes feel mashed in for some reason and I think it is that heel collar that is sort of make my feet push forward more. I think maybe sizing up would help but then I would have a gap from me toes to the shoe which I hate. Maybe after some wears, the shoe will loosen up.

Depending on the color way it could be the material choice. I've had 2 pairs of 1010, one with a suede toe box panel and one with mesh. I found the the pair with the suede didn't stretch as much and made the toe box feel slightly snug initially where as the pair with the mesh felt near broken in from the box. The heel pods do take a little break in time so that could be a factor too but once they do the fit is great.

This happened to anybody with their 1010?
Phantomfit (I guess) detaching from the heel. Quite annoying.

I have had this happen in the toe area on four pairs of 1010s and one pair of 600’s. Always in areas where it’s clearly not from wear and tear. It just starts detaching for no reason.

Absolutely annoying. Especially on such high-quality shoes.

Are you guys talking about that thin fantomfit layer? It flapped around a bit in the toe area of my 600s. For some reason that material seems to be a bit temperature sensitive. I took a lighter and went over that part, but very carefully. Then I gently pressed down on that spot and it kinda seemed to glue itself back in place. Wait, I take a quick photo.

I hope my explaination made sense.

That would make sense, I've been skating with no more than. 2⁰C lately.
Same happened on the toe on some other 1010 I had

Can’t find the original post, but someone mentioned Reynolds wearing new 480 highs.   Looks like it’s a Brooklyn Projects collab out this weekend(?).   Atlas is posting about them

Got my Lost Art 600 and the greys are way less contrast than in photos. Does anyone know if a paint pen could be used to paint the pink Ollie guard? It's subtle, but still don't like it.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t.  I’d think a sharpie could handle it too

Just that and the tongue label under the NB# logo.
