Btw we all know that a pro shoe takes a while to happen but I remember 1010 were kinda waiting for Tiago after he switched from DC.
Anybody knows more about it?
Yeah, Jeff had already designed the 1010 with Tiago in mind "just in case" he decided to switch brands, so we were going to come out with that shoe either way but he designed it with him in mind and it worked out nicely.  So his shoe was able to come out WAY quicker than someone designing it from scratch like the 933.

I wonder what shoes in skate history were designed for a pro that never came

Just wanted to repost this pic of reynolds' dream shoe list from this interview. To add to the hype. Side note, that "wheel softness?" bit really came to fruition with the 93's  ;D

Do you remember if much changed from the original design? or did it end up just being a good fit out the gate?

Pretty cool everything just worked out.

Can we get some new shoe colorway pics or something?

Anyone find the cushioning and shock absorption isn't as good in newer 1010s?

The difference is noticable in my new and old pair. My old pair was the primitive Collab. Was there something special about them?

Alright NB geeks.....About to skate in a pair of suede 480's for the first time from skating the Leo's from Nike. How long is the break in time and is there anything to note negatively with the shoe?

I just heard in the Bunt that Vans was trying to tempt Leo Romero over with a shoe.  Wonder if that became the Chima

Yeah I'm sure that wasn't supposed to be anywhere close to a finished design. Probably just a test sample to see panelling and stuff. It is funny to look at compared to the final design though.

Agreed.  Rough drafts are rough for a reason.   But it’s an interesting base to work from and start tweaking.   Perhaps speaks to a future where skate shoes are inspired by indoor rock climbing shoes

The first sample is clearly a test to see how to use the fantom fit and check the main structural elements and layers of the shoe.

So I tried the 1010 and didn't like the fit of them, the toe box felt a bit too wide and long. But I love the 600, the 306 and the 440 all in my usual 7.5 US size.

I haven't tried the 808 and wanna try them now. Is the general consensus to go up half a size or does anyone can wear these tts?

For the 808, I would recommend going a half size up as the toe box is narrow, although it looks deceivingly rounded from the top view.

I usually wear size 9 in most other shoes and a 9.5 fits perfect for the 808

Half size up, for sure.

I’ve had to full size up in some of the models. Mostly rubber toe version and the white leathers. It can differ due to material.

Thanks pals. The answers so far are interesting. Slap says half size up, Youtube says tts. I try both sizes and hope for the best. How long does it take to break the 808 in? I will get the white leather with the gum sole. They look awesome. Otherwise, Reynolds' 933 will hopefully solve all our shoe problems. 😅

I’m a half size up in the 808 as well. I have the white leather / gum sole pair. In my experience, they’ve been one of the more stubborn colorways to break in.

As hyped as anyone to see what it looks like.. but I can say with 98% certainty that if it’s made for Reynolds’ chicken feet it won’t work with my flippers.

In line with both subjects I remember someone on here a while back saying there was a shoe in adidas line that was designed for Reynolds around the time that rumor was floating he was leaving emerica for them. Never did figure out what shoe it was my best bet was like the city cup or something.
