I have 2002R, 993, and 990. All are far more comfortable than skate shoes. The 2002R are my current favorite they are insanely light on the foot and super padded.

I’ve got the 990v5, 990v6 and 993.  The v5 hugs my foot the best, and isn’t squishy, but very comfy and supportive for walking all day.  It’s definitely the most dad-looking of the 3.  The v6 is much softer underfoot, so very comfy but maybe not ideal for standing all day, and looks much sportier, almost Hoka-like.

I haven’t worn the 993s out yet, but they feel similar to the v5.  They’re often regarded as the GOAT by NB enthusiasts for their comfortable support and versatile looks.  It’s all personal preference, maybe check out the NB reddit for info/ideas.

Sizing is also a hot topic with miUSA models.  If you like a snugger fit with your toes almost touching, go 0.5 down, if you like more room, TTS is a safe bet.

anyone have any input on how the 508's fit/feel? one of their models that i've never really paid attention to, but comparing their different cupsole models, they're a bit more "normal" looking in terms of silhouette and colorways.

I just noticed the little diamond cut out area above the N on the Reynolds... is that a call back to the diamond bling that were on his old Emerica shoes?
[close]

Does anyone know the story on how that came about, diamond bling w/ the Reynolds 3's? I dont recall him talking about it in interviews and such

I think the original 1s in brown were listed as brown bling bling and that was an extension of it

it’s not “new balance” as a company. I mean some Nike aneakers have just leaked that are scheduled to drop early 2026, for example. They did a great job keeping it under wraps. Now it’s build until release.

They did pretty well for the first images to be on their terms, but at some point you gotta take product photos and distribute them which is where leaks happen.   Considering they were originally meant to come out this month, I’d still say they did a good job considering we saw the Currens and Louie Twoies before these

The New Balance 577 velcro has the same notch. Almost the exact same eye stay in fact

Not gonna lie. I will rock these in the retirement home in a few decades.

I have a question, I am looking for some comfy chill shoes. Should I wait for the release of Reynolds' shoe or get something like a NB runner shoe?

If you wanna venture outside NB and from the sneaker look, go for the new iPath Cats. They're the comfiest and best-looking chillers I've owned in ages.

It's a good shoe. Think of something in between the old 440 and the 600. Yeah, a "normal" shoe. The fit is similar to the 440. Better impact support than the 440v1, I felt the grip could've been better but hey, I'm not Westgate, and my shoe was all leather. I'd go for a suede upper if I bought them again.

Big NB supporter, but that shoe is so underwhelming!

I thought at least that the additional colors would improve the shoe, but they only made it worse.

I know there will be a making of shoe doc but I am hoping for a full release part. Maybe too hopeful.

NB has always been about performance over look for me. If it's a solid shoe I might sell a couple shoes in my pile to try it.

I think the pictures are bad, but the shoe could be interesting. I'll wait to see them with good pictures to have an opinion on them.

That gigantic flat white sole makes them look so cheap and like some children shoes or something .

Couldn't agree more. So far from what we've seen I'm utterly disappointed. Shoe, to me, look hideous but if I had to choose I'd go for the grey ones only because the sole look less dumb on the sides than the other ones.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

It looks like an FP model.

I feel bad being a hater, but I’ve also invested an extraordinary amount of money into the company in the last couple years. So I feel like I’m entitled to be honest with my opinions.

About the only thing I like about it is the Lynx-esque shape/sole, but it also doesn’t play as well with the upper as it does on the Lynx.

All of this said, my gripes are strictly aesthetic. I do think the shoe is gonna skate extremely well, and is likely very well designed.

I think these leaked pictures don't do the shoe any favors. And I also think the shoe would look better on official photos. With that said, the olive ones look hella sick and I like them the most. I am curious about all the tech that they put into the Reynolds shoe. New Balance knows what they do, that goes for shoes and also the apparel and everything in between.

I like the dark grey and the olive ones on the bottom row. I think an all white, a grey day, and an actual black/white will look better. I agree that it is super underwhelming as a shoe, but at the same time NB runners are not always that "whelming". We also know nothing about fit, padding, etc. so it could be great in that regard. I do remember the Tiago was super polarizing on here when it dropped and people have dramatically warmed to it. The release colors for that were not my favorite and I really didn't like the black one that had all the colored bits, but have owned tons of pairs after that.

The olive/black coloring just looks odd to me. Kind of reminds me of the Frankie shoe with black and cream.

I like how the olive/olive is colored. Like it needs three tones of colors to show all the different paneling.

Bet opinions will change once we see proper photos of them from skate shops, on Reynold's feet, etc. Don't think the Venice beach park with generic seagulls backdrop helps sell the shoe lol
