This reminds me that I gotta grab some of these tan/gum J Lee inspired 440's to skate in.  I have so much old footage in the OG Airwalk tan/gum ones in like 1994-95

What does microwaving a shoe actually do? I didn't think the glue is heat based, what's the melting point of the midsole?
I ordered some 808 before they are discontinued, I don't like a stiff shoe but not ready to start slicing into it.

helps break down the glues so they de-laminate quicker, don't do it.

Yes the J Lees are amazing.   Last 440s I did are the VUs and have been exclusively 600/ and 1010s, but these are just too good.   Love when logos are the same material as the base

How do the leather 600s skate?  Is the leather super stiff?  I love the suede ones and I’m on my 3rd pair in a row. Any feedback would be appreciated thanks

Leather is noticeably stiff. I normally do not have problems with leather shoes but these 600s aren’t my Jam so far after 5 sessions.

Like shit in my experience. Going from suede to leather on the 600 is a big downgrade.

They skate great. The break-in time is a bit longer than with suede ones, but once broken in, they're awesome and imo last longer than the suede ones. Wouldn't call them "stiff" shoes by any means, at least compared to the 800 or 480.

I wonder if it's an "extra material at the factory" dump. 1010 has so many loyalists that would probably buy any colorway under the sun just cause the shoe functions so well.

These new colorways are great. Shout out the numeric team. Because the MIUSA releases lately all starting to look the same, via Teddy Santis whatever. They could take a page from numeric colorists to create some unique stuff. I really dig it.

Anyone find a solution to their 1010 heel slip? Choking them doesn't help beyond just hurting my foot and I've tried heel lock lacing to no avail. A good shoe otherwise but readjusting my foot in the shoe before every single trick makes it almost unskatable

Also, what shoe fits the bill of everything about the 1010 but with more boardfeel?

1010s skated in for about a month.

600 are your best choice in that case.

Second this, the 600s felt a lot like a slimmed down 1010 for me.

I love this answer...ha.  But yeah, 600's would be a good bet and the upcoming 933 will also fit that bill, albeit more expensive than the 1010 but it's got crazy support but with more boardfeel than the 1010.

Cannot. Wait. But I will wait. I mean, I'm not breaking in Mission Impossible style to snag some before launch day.

No way am I doing that.

Saw up close pics of 933 on my explore page.  Look so much better than those leaks made them look and I thought they looked good in the leak
