15 days. I don’t think I’ve ever been this hyped for a shoe.

I know a lot of you like a techier shoe but I'm kind of stoked there's a  new no-frills basic vulc available again....

its cupsole with some midsole cushioning

Does anyone have a cross-section view of the 430? I've been having some metatarsal pain and have been trying to find a shoe with more forefoot cushioning, specifically a simple cupsole that isn't too bulky.

I am not sure what cross-section view means but I leave the link to the NB site here, you can see the shoe from a few different angles. I ordered the black version of those and can tell you more in a few days. Maybe some review videos are already on the internet now.

I believe it got pushed back another week until the 25th. I’ll double down on this is the most hyped I’ve been on a shoe in a long time!

Thanks! A cross-section is when you have a view as if something were cut in half and you can see everything inside. For example, Weartested does this in all of their shoe reviews, i.e. the Tom Knox 600:

I'm looking for something that's a bit more level (without too much of a drop from heel-to-toe) and has a cushioned midsole throughout.

Tom K on IG just posted a story NB will ''maybe'' release the Neon 272...faith in humanity has been restored. If this color way is released... I will purposely lose my pole jam cherry in the shoes. I hope to report back in the future.

I think I have to give up on these 808s after all. They felt good at first and after the lengthy break in period most of the stiffness eased up. Now that I've been skating in them exclusively, I've experienced pretty harsh foot and toe pain every time I wear them. I didnt skate for a bit and put on my Joslins and no issues. I feel like there's a good balance between cushion and stiffness. 808s being very dense and rigid probably flares up  joints in my foot.

Did you go TTS or half size up? Even half size up the break in period can be initially tough, but once properly worn/skated in they fit and feel great IMO.

I went .5 size up and they fit good that way. Tts would be too tight and I prefer just a bit of extra space in my shoes. I think I have to inspect my issues further and skate my pair again after my foot pain settles. It could something else but these shoes somehow didnt work now.  Ive been skating them since last summer kinda on and off.

Just got the foy 80’s in. Put them on my feet and the difference between the og ones without the elastic tongue strap is heaps different. The heel slip would be terrible on the og ones. Had to lace them to the top and even then my foot would slip out. Curious to try the 808 lights as I have some qualms with the og 808s.
[close]

I always thought the 480s run half a size too big. Even the regular non skate 480s feel a bit too long in my usual size. But that is just my opinion.

Are we already have a release date for the 808L?

June 1st

Is the release date different in Canada? I went into my local today and they had the 808L on the wall (the black/gum version that Tiago has been wearing). The guy said they got them last week or so. I was caught so off guard that I forgot to take a picture. They also didn't have my size so I can't even comment on fit.

I really like the Westgate 508s, on my 3rd pair. They fit so nice and the mesh(?) on the inside is so comfy, but they seem to have no midsole cushioning whatsoever. Just the firm outsole and the thin Ortholite insole. How does Westgate jump such big shit with no heel cushioning?! Maybe he just never bails.

I need 508s with the foam layer of the 1010s. Will the Reynolds be close to this?

I’m a little scared about narc-ing if they aren’t supposed to be selling them yet or something. But I will say that it’s in central Canada and they don’t have an online store

Did anyone notice the latest white 480 on new balance is offered in a wide??? Curious if that is in the heel? Or forefoot.

Curious about this too.  I find the toebox to be good in the normal 480, but the midfoot is a little narrow.

just saw that the #430s are on the NB euro site (austria at least) if some euro pals are interested. 80€ for a full lenght foam midsole model seem alright to me and i like the design being simple.

now in other words: i read the thread about the tariffs possibly making shoes more expensive so i have a great reason to buy more shoes. Also i am following jack curtin on insta and hope to look as cool as him wearing these. i won't  ;D

Got my first pair of NB’s and so far not really loving them. I got the 480 foy color way and it’s got some pretty bad heel slip. I cranked the laces down quite a bit and still pretty bad. Anyone else have this issue with the 480’s?

I’m a size 9.5 and I don’t normally do the “go up or down a half size” with shoes. I generally skate Nikes and never had this problem.

yes, i have that issue with the 480s.  also went down a full size.  not my experience with NBs in general.

I love 440, 600, and 1010, hated 480, 508, and 808. 480 and 808 are too brick-like, 508 was kinda like a weird 440 for me it just never really fit right and didn't last as long.
