I ordered a pair for pickup just so I could make sure I could try on the size to see what I'd need when the grey days come out ... they looked so good in person I went home with them...

Good pant choice to go with them

Thank you my man!  Total luck as I hadn't worn them in forever but I lost 25 lbs and now I have to wear all of my old clothes again haha

How’d you lose the 25?

I'll make it quick but feel free to reach out if you want more info.  I have coached people through this.  I regularly fast for both health and religious reasons.  I also do animal based eating or carnivore depending on what I'm working with.  I was also vegan for 3.5 years.  I have tried most things to find out what works for me.  I don't trust others to know what will work for my body, but I have figured out what in the short term can help with weight loss and inflammation.  It's been a game changer coming up on 50 and still skating.
That's interesting.  I started a carnivore/animal based discussion on slap a year or so ago and got lots of hate. It's funny what happens when time passes.
They laughed when I told my friends that I was going to be a comedian.....well they are not laughing now!

Got mine in the black/olive and then tried to go find some in the brown but no one had them in my size. I'll keep looking on the off chance some show up. Skated in them today and even at age 49, jumping down some stair sets was comfortable. And I even managed to do some tre flips. These shoes fuck.

Wear 11.5 2E in the 440s. Assuming same size in these?

For sure. Same sizing as the 1010 and 440 easily.

Right on - I found keto (which seems to be in the same neighborhood) works really well when I can commit.

Commitment is key!  I was strict in that timeframe each time I did it and the results were amazing.

Haha, nah if you go create an actual thread on it you'll still get all of the hate. I believe I posted in your thread and then bounced because it just isn't worth arguing with people who won't actually try something for themselves.  As I said, I've explored a lot of different things and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt I was healthier by almost every metric eating carnivore or animal based

JK, I just thought it was funny.  This was the best regular attempt I've had at a fs flip in years though, I can only do them switch for some reason.

I liked the shredz vid.  Interesting to hear about flex point and the primo block.

Wish I could hear some of the stuff they were talking about in AZ like the design trade-offs between Reynolds and the designers.   I remember someone’s recap said that Mikut wasn’t into a runners toe originally, but got to push through a design idea as a concession to it

the more i see the shoes the more i like them!

i need that brown colorway and the dark blue ones.
but what i REALLY do need is the black gum one that was teased in the rose anvil vid! i don't like all black/ mostly black shoes but in the NB 600 and these that is an insanely good colorway. maybe because it feels a bit understated in a shoe with more than 3 panels on the upper. don't know how to describe it any better.

all you american pals drive me mad already having the shoes and we euros still have to wait.
cool to hear that (mostly) TTS.

other thing is that i don't find 130 that steep for a shoe with new tech in it. Dunks usually are 120€. while still one of the shoes i really like skating it's kinda pricey. Also most Cups are over or at 100€ at least around here. As the NB 1010s are relatively cheap even at retail for how long they do last compared to other shoes.
so if the reynolds do last as long as the 1010s or longer then the price seems justified. also old circas or és koston 1 & 2 were around 130€ when they came out- how much would that be with inflation now?

my 2 cents, sorry for the rambling  ;D

I don’t see the big fuss either really but I’m also a guy in my thirties.

I saw a video recently about how shoes/clothes are priced and basically people have a set in perception that clothes should always be a certain price despite inflation. There were plenty of 100-150 dollar shoes in the past so why is it so crazy to see it now? If anything it would be normal.

It’s why clothes are such shit quality nowadays. People expect to only pay xxx amount of dollars so the only way companies can give you those prices is cheapening the quality hence fast fashion and all that trash.

I remember back in 2002 when I was a freshman in highschool. The Air Jordan XVII were $199. That seemed insane at the time, but now most of his shoes are over $200. Skateboarding is niche and honestly the shoes are still on the cheaper end of the spectrum. But I understand folks having a mental spending limit on shoes. Luckily there are tons of sub $100 skate shoes to choose from.

^^^^The Jordan with the case box? Boy did I hate that shoe. It really went downhill after that. Ironically this was when I got into skate shoes. Ipaths were such a stark contrast from Jordans.

Exactly. And if you look at the materials on a quality skate shoe (these 933’s, sb dunks, blah blah) they are using materials that are usually of better quality than some of these $200+ basketball/running shoes that don’t even have a single bit of leather or suede.

Got my pair of the black/olives on Friday. Just skated em for the first time today and they really are a push forward in skate shoe tech. These are very much tts. Fits like a glove. Definitely a little stiff to start but after some walking around and a little skating they definitely feel more broken in. For anyone that has tried a pair of the regular NB 990 series. This is a skate shoe that fits right in line with them. Premium materials and premium comfort. If you are a cupsole person I highly recommend these

The one hidden cost no one remembers is if you paid $90 for the Osiris Smolik shoes you had to buy the pants with the Velcro to match for an extra $50.

AFAIK the 933 don't require you to adhere your pants to the rear of the shoe, so this is a major step up.

I’m mainly talking about what you pay for in a skate shoe vs any other shoe. Most shoes aren’t even leather anymore with a ton of foam. Yet somehow over $100 or even $200. (An expensive runner) A SB dunk is at least a pretty chunky shoe with all leather or suede, reinforced toe box, tons of padding, sidewall stitched.  So for $100-120 I don’t think it’s really that expensive.

And the sb dunks are absolutely better quality than a regular dunk just like the numeric 480’s are better quality than the reg 480’s. I’ve turned into a skate shoe nerd so I like geeking on this shit.

toe box is closer to a 480 but I’d say it fits more snug than the 480 in the toe. I also got the black olive pair so that might make it feel a little more snug than the colorways with mesh. Snug but not a vice grip. Especially after they break in a little bit

I have very low volume feet and the 993 fits me more snug than the 600, not as snug as the 440 if that helps. Not much toe wiggle room.

Got a pair this afternoon. Skated em as soon as I got em and I really dig them Coming from the 1010s they were a bit different and stiffer. I noticed the sole was A LOT more grippy than the 1010s. As as soon as I had them on for 30 minutes they felt super comfortable. I had to readjust my kickflip flick but the runner toe thing helps.

If you like the 1010's you're gonna like these!

Still waiting on mine to come in. My only hesitation is the comparison to the 1010. I know a lot of people that swear by those shoes but for me personally they where the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet, skate shoe or not. I’ve had plenty of Reynolds Emerica cup soles over the years so I’m hoping these work for me.
