Got my 933s through today. Look great but they’re a lil tight. I really wish they did the wide version here in the UK. They fit perfect if I remove the insole, is this something anyone would let has tried or just a stupid thing to do?
[close]

So, waiting a little longer to fully evaluate, but I have the 933 in black/olive, in both regular and wide. The wide feels very marginally wider, and I honestly struggled to decide if they felt better. I was able to compare the feeling of the wides new out of the box directly to a pair of regulars in the same size right out of the box, and even with both shoes new, it was a struggle to determine if one was truly “better” than the other.

I found the regulars to feel a bit tight, but after wearing them for a few weeks pretty much constantly, they have loosened up a bit in a good way. The wides I just got, and today is my first full day wearing them.

So far so good, but I want to spend a few more days before I fully evaluate the pros/cons. Right now my plan is the regular width to skate in, and the wides as chillers/ every day wear. I’ll report back soon.

Anyone have any insight on the for of the mesh top panel (camel or the upcoming grey day) vs the leather top panel of the black/olive? I know the 1010s have felt slightly different size wise to me dependent on the material of that panel above your toes. The mesh feel slightly roomier than the leather or suede. The suede would loosen up nicely though.

Just trying to figure out if reg or wide is the move when the grey day release happens, as I’m apparently right on that edge between the two. Currently leaning towards regs if the mesh feels like there is more room. I was originally caught off guard by the toe box not being very tall.
[close]
I have the black/olive pair and a pair of GDs at the moment and can confidently say that the mesh does feel roomier by a pretty noticeable amount. My black/olives felt tight right out of the box in the forefoot, but as I've skated them they've broken in hella comfortably. The GDs felt great right out of the box and have only gotten roomier as I've worn them. My feet are a D width, but if they were an E or on the cusp of needing a 2E I'd feel fine about getting the standard width. Hope this helps!
I’m in a very similar boat here. After understanding how the sizing works for NB wides I picked up a pair of wide 933s a half size down to compare to TTS 933s I’ve been skating in. Going half a size down in the wides is not the move, the shoe felt not long enough and I’m not sure why if the wides are just “relabeled half sizes” . They did feel less tight around the mid foot so I think if possible I’ll get a TTS wide grey 933s. It doesn’t seem like the wide drastically changes the overall fit. You’d probably be safe going with whether standard or wide you can get in your size. Also everyone’s feet are different so I hope this helps.

I normally skate the 1010s and 480s in 9.5 but I went with a 10 for the 933 black/olive. When I first tried on the camels in 9.5 I immediately felt like they were too cramped, but I didn't walk around in them much. 933 Size 10 gives me the same amount of space between my toe and the edge of the sole as 9.5 in the other models.

It's unbelievable how hard people find sizing shoes in this thread. No shoe is tailored for your foot. Shoe sizes are based on length first. If that doesn't fit it doesn't fit. Then tighten the shoe and if there's too much or too little room it's probably not your best shoe. It's like that for any shoe. If you have duck feet a CTAS is never gunna work even if you size up, for example.

lol you really think I'm doing something more than posting on the top threads when I'm taking a shit. It's comical at this point how hard it is for a group of grown adults to figure out what shoes to buy.

Comfort for me isn’t as comparable to a 990v3 or 990v6. The 933 wraps your foot, holds it in place firmly with the tongue straps.

The 990’s can be loosened and feel more “lifestyle” for day to day chillers - older running tech/models adapted to lifestyle. These feel like more of a performance shoe on foot.

Tried a pair on at my local. The fit was definitely more comfortable straight out of the box compared to the OG 808s. But by losing the lace protection loops, slimming down the tongue, etc, the shoe seemed to have lost its character. It felt more like a generic cup sole to me, if that makes any sense. I think the OG 808 tanks had a certain appeal. I assume NB# was trying to make changes that would appeal to a wider audience. But in doing so, maybe no one will be very stoked on it.

Looking at CCS - it was the same price as the 1010, now it’s $15 cheaper and it seems NB is trying to get a good spread for whatever your budget is (not a comprehensive list - just looking at what CCS has up) and it’s a good look to not have 4 different hundred dollar shoes.

80 - 440
85 - 508
90 - 306, 508
95 - 808L, 600
100 - 480
110 - 1010
130 - 933

I've recently grown to like the 440v2 a whole lot. My only gripe is the sole that seems to wear out really fast. Front foot has bald patches already, while my ollie area is still going strong, it seems really sturdy. Bummer, as the shoe is great otherwise.

I really liked the fit of the 808 lite but the weight of them turned me off them. Maybe it's a thing were you need to get used to the weight for a while. But trying the 933 today, let's see how they fit.

I remember the first sighting of Reynolds in 1010's was through spanky's photo. Apparently the first look of the tom knox's was through spanky's photo of drew. Spanky shadow working for NB at this point.
