This thread is alittle intimidating with all of the model numbers, and the constant worry of fit always being discussed but i am hoping for a recommendation on a walking shoe, and my dunks and blazers just aint the answer.

i shoot alot of street photography, usually going into nyc every other weekend and walking around for like 8 hours minimum. by the end of every outing im almost limping back to the train station from foot pain (previous injuries from years ago/i have flat feet), and i get really gnarly blisters on my feet or toes, causing me to have to wait more than a week to go back and shoot more.

wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on a pure walking shoe that would be good for wandering around like this. i feel like nb makes alot of these but they make alot of shoes so im not sure whats a good one. thanks pals.

The 997H has been my go too chiller/walker for 3 years. I skate NB 440's only and swap to the 977 H immediately when not on the board.

Okay I got the 933 on right now. Really comfy, feels true to size so far. A few things I don't like, the tongue straps feel a bit too sturdy and I think the shoe would fit better without the straps. At least for me, but I also cut those tongue straps out of most shoes for 20 years. Minimal heel slip in the right shoe, but my left foot is a little bit bigger as my right foot and most right shoes fit a tiny bit too long. Which brings me to the next "issue". The laces a are too short, but the laces are almost always too short in most shoes for the last 20 years.

What's the break in time like? So far, really stiff and sturdy but that is nice. And heel slip, might go away with longer laces and laced to the top of the shoe?

* I forgot to mention, I got the regular width and the width is great all over, my feet are more on the wider side.

2002r, i think it's technically a running shoe. it's super cushy, lots of cool colors and you can usually find a cheap pair on sale

https://www.newbalance.com/pd/2002r/M2002RV1-41769-PMG-NA.html#dwvar_M2002RV1-41769-PMG-NA_style=M2002RBL&dwvar_M2002RV1-41769-PMG-NA_width=D&pid=M2002RV1-41769-PMG-NA&quantity=1
I would also recommend anything from the 990 line and the 1000s if you like a more Air Max look. I have a pair of the 990v3s and the 1000s and both are very comfortable and supportive for walking around all day in.

Unrelated but those black gum 933s are my favorite colorway of them so far. I'll definitely be copping those when they come out.

@rothdigga et all. I’m surprised the 933 isn’t having gr grey, blue, and black colorways like 990 series always does.

I love my 933 but feel they'd aesthetically look way better in almost every color way if the side of the sole was one color.

Oh dude it's a world of difference and you'll feel way better walking around in some shoes that were designed for it instead of skate shoes! I have a bunch of issues going on with my feet and legs (flat feet, bow legged, tendonitis in my knees, etc.) and rarely ever wear skate shoes as chillers anymore. It makes such a big difference for me.

I put in some Dunk laces. Great upgrade and will do the same with future pairs. Perfect length if you don't want to choke the shoes. It got rid of my minor heel slip.

It took me a week of walking around in them daily to get them to feel truly broken in. But I imagine they can break in sooner if you skate hard and often (unlike me lol).

I understand why it isn’t that way for sole paneling purposes, I just wish the outer heel had the same design on the  inner side.   I like how it looks but it’s on the part of the shoe you only really see when they aren’t on your feet.

There is literally a gray out right now, navy and black are coming.

Laces are for sure too short, even moreso if you use the runners eyelets (I do) to prevent heel slip. Just shredded my left upper and lace yesterday near the runner eyelet and need to swap in a new set (apparenlty the shoe does not like the way I varial heel. Love this shoe tho.

Off white gives it that vintage, sneakery look that I think they like to embrace on Grey Day

Stoked that finally I got my 933 but bummed since it seems that I hit the defective jackpot :(
Anybody else had something like this in their pair?
You can even see some kind of glue fix in there.
Snagged a pair out of our office promo to sort you out on these Moon.  Ben sent me your address.  Just luck of the draw as we produced thousands of pairs of these, every once in a while you get a weird glue issue.

I hate to be a sizing question guy, but I wear a ten and a half in every NB shoe I've tried except the og 808. Should I try 10.5 in the reynolds? Or go with 11 which works on the 808? It's a length not width sizing difference. Thanks to anyone with any insight🤘

Probably just the 10.5.

I'm a 13 in everything NB except the 808 which is too short and they dont make a 13.5. The reynolds are tts length wise

Anyone know what colors are coming up for the 480?  Hoping the next drop has something all suede.  Those seem to just get so comfortable once broken in.

Agree! Got the foy80's right now. First week or two is rough on the board but I've got them dialed in now.
We rode 7.5's" and didn't complain.
