I feel validated everytime other people mention this. I thought I had super abnormal feet when I wore these and they felt like stilts. I think NB should update it a bit and make the side walls of the heels a bit angled like this /  \  so it's more stable. Kind of like the 1010 heel but less dramatic. I would visually prefer what they have now but the sole is too tall to have a straight cut sidewall at the heel.

I also think a big part of it is that the rubber on the outsole has like ZERO give to it, it's so bomber that it doesn't flex at all, just tips or rolls over. I ponder if just softening up he duro of the heel portion of the outsole would help a ton, because even over a long period of time that brick rubber just never brakes in. I love the look feel, and fit of the 480's otherwise.

True. I put on my pair of dunks and it instantly felt more stable. It's lower, the rubber is softer, and there is a slight angle outwards if you look closely.

I think it would even help if the heel sits down lower into the shoe slightly below the side walls if possible. The 933's kinda prove you can have a taller sole that's stable.

This pretty much. I just can't get the 480 work for me, even after going back to them repeatedly over the course of over a year now. The outsole is just too stiff and bulky in general. I feel like Goofy and my boardfeel just disappears. I'm kinda over waiting them to break in enough for me, I think it's just never gonna happen.

As per the ankle business with them, I haven't had any problems. My main issue is the amount of shoe that comes with them, which is just too much.

Others love 'em, and for a reason. For a person who loves a hefty shoe, the 480 is probably among the best on the market.

Haven’t seen them posted anywhere but the new 600 cws seem to be
- black ones based off his 440 colorway
- powder blue white/gum sole (in Pedro biagio’s IG stories

Both are really good!   Pretty great drop

I’m skating the black with gum bottom 480’s and the shoe is mid as fuck. The two biggest gripes I have is the shoe’s price and how uncomfortable it feels compared to other models (namely the 440 v2). I don’t know if it has been covered, but it seems that every 480 colorway since mine has had a softer collar, tongue straps and the insole feels more cushioned. I don’t mind this shoe once broken in, but for a shoe over $100. Didn’t seem worth it

the more beat my 480s get, the more I love them

but now

everytime I slip into my beloved 440s my feet hurt

is this growing up?

Yea, the 480s get better all the way until they're toast imo.

Def because they start out a bit stiff and boxy and just continually break in over the lifespan of the shoe.

And yeah, the 440s crush my feet too. I keep wanting to skate thinner shoes with more boardfeel again, but am quickly reminded why I don't do that whenever I try to.

Gave my 808 Lites a good full sesh after spending a few days just walking in them to the store such. I sized up 1 half size (12 from 11.5) and the fit is good without my foot slopping around the footbed. I was worried about finding the flick, but that was assuaged pretty fast. Tres worked, kick flips worked, and I even did my requisite amount of impossibles. Landed primo a few times on things and felt fine after, so the cushion/rigidity of the shoe worked. Looking down at my feet in them passed the eye test, too. Good shoe!

Bring back the 440 V1! They're so much better than the V2. I'll probably switch to the 600s when I can't find V1s anywhere unless I really end up liking the 933s.

I kinda wish I bought the pair I saw at Marshall’s last month just to compare , I tried it on one foot wearing the v2 just to see but it definitely felt stiffer where the abzorb in the v2 feels softer. Try Marshall’s though they’ve had a lot of NBs by me lately .

Oof these might be my favorite colorway.   Grey in the sole mixes in really well

Why did they have to make the 440v2 so ugly. I don't hear many people talking about the 440 since the change.

Maybe not here but I've seen an uptick of people wearing 440's post v2 update in real life.

Thanks everyone on the sizing advice with the 808 lites. Got the same size as my 808 and these fit great. I have a wideish high volume foot and these fit me like a comfortable glove, much better than the OG 808, 1010, 440, 600, 480 & 933.

I’ve only walked around in them so far. They feel very comfortable and not too stiff. Thinking of ordering the other colorway right away as well as I think I’m gonna love skating these. I also really like how they look.

If I dislike the lack of boardfeel in the 480, should I skip the 808 Lite completely?

Apologies if this is a dumb question. I've never skated the OG 808 as people keeping telling me that they provide next to no boardfeel. But the shoe looks great, as does the Lite version.

Or should I just stick to my faves the 600 and the 440?

The 808 Lite has less boardfeel than the 480. You're not going to like any of those style of thicker soled cups likely including the 933.

I've liked every NB shoe we've had more or less but I come back to the 440 almost every time. I replace the insoles or double stack them. The 600 are great and I enjoy the 1010 to a degree too. If you like the 440 and 600 I'd check out the Vickka Pro, Japan S, or Tyshawn 2.

would like to hear more about this. My pair skate so well but the forefoot feels so thin to even just walk in since ive been skating the 480. As I sit at my desk there are 2 sets of 440 insoles that look like theyd be insane to stack together

The homie just blessed me with some 600s and theyre amazing. The heel lock is impeccable

I have lurked the insole thread here and tried all of them but my last pair wore out and I was in a pinch. I just put a 440 insole on top of another. It won't work if you have thick toes/feet, but otherwise feels kinda like what you think. Put the more worn insole on top.

Yeah I used to skate the 440 stock, but for the recent pair I replaced the insoles with ones that have more forefoot protection. Also, with the 600, I usually start stock, but once they start wearing out more I switch to more protective aftermarket insoles.

And thanks for the recommendations.

Anybody experienced models fitting different depending on which materials have been used? Currently skating a 272 in smooth leather and they fit me perfect thus I bought another pair in sale in suede online. Somehow these feel half a size smaller.. it’s weird. Quality inconsistency?

Had that with the OG 440s. Leather ones in size 10 were bigger than suede ones in size 10.5. Pretty crazy.

That’s quite annoying.. I usually am forced to order online as Europe prices for new shoes are just too high. Thus i would prefer some kind of consistency in sizing at least in the same model. My 1010 all white leather also runs smaller than my OG 1010 blue/white. I’ve read about the 600 fitting differently in materials here, didn’t know it‘s the same for all the other models

I picked up my NB# 480's last week and took them for a couple long walks, I'm in love with them. More comfy than Dunks for sure. Won't skate them as I skate Vans and Cons but they will be in heavy rotation for sure. I think I will put them in storage and keep them on ice until I have a jersey or something that matches the colorway
