My black/gum 480 highs get here yesterday. I threw the off white laces from the Brooklyn project 480 highs in there. They look sick.

I really hope this is not the end of the 480 high top. @rothdigga

Not sure what I'll skate if it goes away. Got a pair of dilos but they feel like they're gonna bag out quickly. Maybe grasshoppers but they look super bulky, which would be exaggerated by my skinny ass build.

Could go back to Jordan 1s I guess. But I was beginning to feel like I was getting too old for those shoes. I didn't wanna seems like one of those elderly hype beasts.

Damn dude those look so good with the white laces. I have a pair of the Chocolate collab 480 highs on ice to skate, but now I'm tempted to go track down a pair of these too...
[close]

Thanks man, I saw Reynolds put some white laces in these when they came out and thought they looked sick. Similar to some of his old emericas.

Personally I think these off white ones look even better.

I used shop lurker to find these.

Did you find that the highs feel any more stable than the lows. I know some of us find that shoe tippy and prone to ankle rolls but if a high solves that I’d be 480 curious once again.
[close]
Same

Probably helps a little, if you crank em they'll probably make it less severe when you do roll your shit. But if the sole is the same then doesn't change the fundamental fact that the shoe is tippy

Imo stable low top is wayyyy better for ankle roll prevention than an unstable high top

I'd say they help me prevent ankle rolls.

I lace them up pretty tight when I skate and make sure to break them in well before skating.

Still waiting for some more all suede 480s to drop like the blacks and whites that came out a while back.  Thos have been the most comfortable.  They break in nice.

Looking at the video on there, I’d be surprised.  The N’s look slightly off especially on the inner side, heel tab just has NB and no #, and the sole is just kind of a block with minimal tread.

Yeah everything about it seems like it’s a super fake shoe made to sell at stores over seas that also sell fake ripoffs of other items. Like some temu shit. I’ve heard we’re getting a foy cupsole next year and for sure it’ll look better than this

Look like a Foy signature sketcher!

NB# wouldn’t do us dirty like that.

These so uncanny valley. Everything on that page has that AI vibe. Everything is so close, but obviously wrong. Wasn't it said that Jamie's shoe is the best selling Athlete shoe across NB period? That would mean demand to make counterfeit.

That 430 is the shoe I been looking for the last day or so. I was starting to think I dreamt them.
I’m just wondering if they will be close to as protective as the 808 from primo damage? It is a yellow foam I see instead of orange. I read no abzorb but an insole bit.
I’m hi key shook to switch off the 808. My feets have never been so happy but I only got one pair after I finish my current pair. I got the black ones but they’re kinda too small and I was thinking about giving them to the homeless guy who I gave my old acics to after his shoes was stolen In the night.
I seen him and he’s having back pains like woah. Only I know that it’s the uber thin flat shoes. I’m weighing it rn. I might just give him my old foot print insoles. Regardless I need to buy shoes when I can to have on ice.

I’m also wondering what’s the differences with the 808 lite? Incase I find myself in an online buying situation. My og red black and white 808s fishing spot has dried up. Change wanted or not is in the mail. I should prepare for purchase.

Any pal insight would be greatly appreciated once you’ve skated them

430 has a full length midsole, but it's way more flexible than any other NB cupsole, especially the 808s.  They are basically a cupsole Blazer and my current fav skate shoe.  As far as primo protection since it's more flexible than the 808 it's probably less.  I have never skated the 808s because I don't like ultra stiff shoes.  The 430 is not ultra thin, probably about the same thickness as 600.

With regards to the midsole in the 430, it's apparently the same as in the 425 and 508 (C-CAP).

Are the 430s actually numerics, or did nb unintentionally make a skate shoe separate from the skate dedicated line? They have zero branding to show they’re #.

I'm not holding my breath, but a high top of this shoe would pretty much be what I've been looking for for years. It seems insane that there isn't basically a cupsole blazer high made by any company (to be fair the dilo is close just haven't tried it). But yeah, fingers crossed for a high version.

It is our shoe, a definite Numeric. Basically tried to keep it as simple as possible in the event other parts of the brand wanted to use it. Not really much to it other than that.

NB 440 Hi does feel like the sibling/cousin to the cupsole blazer high silhouette. Totally agree the 430 Hi/Mid could fill that gap right now!!!

Does the 430 offer more support than the 440? If it has full length foam then I may try it.

NB# pals feel free to correct me if this is wrong, but I believe 430 would be less supportive than 440. Full length midsole, but the outsole is flexible, thin, and soft. It's a cupsole best suited for someone who wants a bit of a cushioning upgrade from a vulc, not someone seeking more support from the cupsole that they already skate.

what is "C-CAP" and how does it differ from what is in the 440? I think the 508 might be my fav in terms of fit, but the midsole seems to have zero give. It feels like a honeycomb type hard rubber, the 440 feels like it has more cushion but I only have one pair of V1s to compare.

If they could magically get 1010 cushioning into a 508, I'd buy that for the rest of my life

430 should be less supportive than 440 since is stated to be an "entry level" shoe.
