Skated the 600s this weekend and really liked them.  I guess I'm of Vans and back on NB.

Almost feel like giving the NB 480 a try after watching that YouTube video…
I already tried the 1010, 306, 440, and I still keep ending up back in Dunks . Especially once they’re nicely broken in.
Anyone here really found the 480 to be a “better Dunk”?

Not to always preach them, but why not give 600s a try?

I have a pair of 480s that are broken in and they’re nice, but the reason 480s aren’t great for me is that they feel like they fit too low on my foot.   Maybe I have a high heel or I’m just used to shoes like the 600 that sit up higher, but dunks have hit me somewhere between 480 and 600

I've given the 480 a chance multiple times, but each time they just end up feeling too thick and bulky and brick-y. I'd just love to love that shoe as they look great and I'm 100 % sure they are great for jumping down stuff, but they just totally kill my general boardfeel.

Really like the 600, though. Among the best shoes out there. They just tend to flop out on me kinda quickly. They're awesome for a few weeks and then start to feel kinda flimsy.

Funnily enough, I've never tried the 1010. Are they any less bricks than the 480? Kinda interested in something between the 600 and the 480.

Honestly the 480 and the 1010 look similar, but the 1010 feels more responsive to me, might just be in my head.

Well i mean the 1010s are way different. Less foam in the front foot but a wider sole and toepiece. But the boardfeel starts coming after a while i feel like. If you want less break in time just get a suede colorway, better even with the mesh toepiece. I think they are worth a try since you can usually find em on sale and it‘s a cool design.

I personally like the 480s i had more. But i agree, they are a lot of shoe. Way more foam midsole than a dunk for example.

Im all on board for the Foy cupsole. But my only fear with this shoe is if its one NB's cupsole shoes that is stiff af like the Reynolds and Tiago's models. I enjoy how the Knox and the 440 skate and feel

Brian Reid posted these on his IG story yesterday, I feel like they’re new? Idk I don’t keep up on 440 colorways very well.

Who has a leak on the next 440 mid colorways? Skating my last pair right now, went looking at whats out there and I'm not feeling the current colorways that are available in my size.

Confirmed blue cw for the 440h for Q1 from NB's Instagram post 2 hours ago. 440 highs often get the basic/bland treatment but I do really like the blue. The all white I mentioned I must have erred, think the shop order book stated Q2 for those. My bad.

This product description gives them impression they’ll be closer to the 440 and 600
Jamie Foy pro model updated with a new cupsole design for more support and durability
Vulc style radius on the toe for precise flick
Internal 3/4 length ABZORB midsole for impact protection
Internal toe protection for added durability
Closed cell PU insert for step in comfort
Updated herringbone tread pattern
TPU Controlled Reaction Device for added stability
Elastic gusseted tongue for a snug fit

Im all on board for the Foy cupsole. But my only fear with this shoe is if its one NB's cupsole shoes that is stiff af like the Reynolds and Tiago's models. I enjoy how the Knox and the 440 skate and feel

Skated the 480 highs I've had on ice for the first time today. Coming off 440s for years, gotta say I... love these. Flick is different, feels sturdier maybe a touch more consistent. Good grip.

Was afraid they'd be like bulky bricks but definitely weren't. Was afraid I wouldn't feel the board at all and did.

Extra room in the toebox made my feet feel less straight jacketed than the narrower 440.

Only con so far is the fit around the ankle isn't as secure as the 440 but I can likely solve that with different lacing strategies. Feel like my entire report echoes what others have said about the 480.

I guess another con is current availability for this shoe, which I find concerning. Really hard to find. Hopefully the Q2 drop has that new cw coming that was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Yeah, I've had a few sessions on mine and liking them a lot. Here are my favorite things about them:
  • Tongue bands on top of the lace loop make the tongue stay cantered and in place perfectly. I really love that feature and have missed it for a long time since I stopped skating basketball shoes in the 80's and other tech skate shoes in the late 90s/early 00s.
  • Laces or lace holes keep the laces where you set them and they stay tight so no need to double lace or keep adjusting
  • Stability - I thought they were too stiff and flat like a 2x4 under my feet at first but not really noticeable while skating and really help keep my feet planted
  • Support - snug around the foot but not constricting with room to wiggle toes a bit.
  • Not a pita to put on or take off. I hate having to loosen all the laces all the way down just to put on or take of shoes like I had to with Blazer Mids
Overall, I don't think about them much while I'm skating, which is a good thing. They blend into my skating, keep my feet comfy and feel very protected but flexible at the same time. I get the hype for NB# shoes now.

Still not decided on the insole and might swap out for my FPs after popping around a bit and noticing some foot fatigue but want to give the stock insoles a bit more of a chance while I'm still breaking the shoes in. I did notice the stock insoles seem like shitty foam that do nothing for shock absorption like most stock insoles so it's very likely I'll eventually swap them out.

Also, as good as these shoes are, I don't think I'll get them or another conventional skate shoe again. I need some barefoot skate shoes and hope these last long enough for some good ones to come out. I noticed in that upcoming drop that was posted recently that there were no 480 highs included so that sucks for the people who want to keep getting these.
