I have a feeling you'd be better served looking for a video on YouTube or another message board. I've never seen anyone post a plan B on this site since I've been lurking or posting.

Is the bottom coated in a layer of wax? Imagine that.

I believe the bottom ply is some plastic material, similar to slicks in the early 90's

It's a 7 ply board with the bottom ply being a black plastic.  The graphic is a simple heat transfer over that graphic.  I can't really imagine any downsides as long as the blue adheres fine between the plastic and wood plys

This is different than the slicks we grew up with in the 90's.  I've seen a few pics of them that were skated and it looks like like a regular board with a shiny black bottom

also this video rules just to see Duffy skating a curb -

reminds me of sliptape

I saw so many kids with that shit, just peeling and bubbling off the bottom of their boards. It was almost like their target audience was kids who couldn't slide to begin with

Bingo!

They did work back in the day, in lieu of rails but you'd eat through it in a few days where it would end up bubbling and peeling. They were also heavy.

It's a trend that keeps coming back, Mystery did it, REAL still makes slicks every now and again.

This is what a skated blk ice board looks like.  It's very different from a 90's slick, the current real slicks or slip tape.  It just looks like a shiny black bottom ply.

This shit doesn't make sense to me. You're gonna have to wax a ledge/rail to do nose/tail slides anyways (unless you have some really slick wheels). Seems like this is only gonna be useful if you're trying to boardslide straight concrete with no wax

Still has purpose even on waxed ledges. I wax my nose/tail all the time when skating already waxed ledges, I suppose it would be like doing that, but the wax is built into your board.

I bought one myself, and was surprised to see that they actually worked! I was able to slide on unwaxed concrete like it was. Crazy. But, downslide is they razor tail WAY too easy.

I've got the Kyle Walker one. They work well. Super slick and when the top graphic scratches off, the one underneath shows and it doesn't come off quick at all. It's fun checking out what it's starting to look like. Pretty gimmicky but I love it haha.
