Contemplating getting me some of the new Quasi drop.

I know the proto's are the normal square shape from what i read on here.

What are the Mono phade shape like though?

The 8.5 phade I got was the same shape as an 8.5 proto.

Shape or dimensions?

Thinking about getting some venture 5.0 lows for this 7.75 I set up. What’s good? Never had lo trucks. Anything I need to know?

Just the shape.

I've been riding the 8.5x33 w/ 14.5 WB for a long time because of the straight shape and WB. I remember the 8.5x32.75 w/ 14.25 WB having a slight taper towards the tail. Is that still the case?

You'll need small wheels like 52mm and lower

I got that Quasi 8.1 Dumb deck. Just wanted to try a new brand. Does that have a square-ish nose? I’ve been curious about a square-ish nose.

A Baker/Deathwish board. I have a few and I’m tempted to get a B16 but worried about going up in WB.

Yeah the tail is just a little smaller on that one but that's really the only difference shape wise. The phade has a more full tail that's a little longer I think.

it’s actually pretty normally popsicle tbh. The 8.25 & 8.5 are the most squarish nose. Every other size (8.0,8.125,8.375,8.6) are all pretty rounded off instead of square. I was bumbed about this at first but I really like the 8.125 shape. It’s really short in length too like 31.5.

Zero 8.5"
Haven't had one in three years, so I'm not sure if their shapes have changed since then. I liked the one I had.
I hope they're not too pointy and mellow. I prefer medium to steep concave on a semi full nose/tail.
Anyone had a Zero or an 8.5 Zero lately?
I'm skating the bold one right now and I'm loving it.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

The [any] quasi with a 14.37" WB is not the square proto shape but rounded/pointy.

Proto is 14.25" WB in both 8.5"/8.25

It they weren't $72 without grip I'd bite...

At the expense of sounding like a dummy, B16 shape is for both brands, right?

B16 should be pretty similar wheelbase to all the other baker shapes. I’m on a 8.1 and it’s the same wheelbase as the 8.4

Also I love the b16 just bigger than I’m skating right now

I don’t see b16s that often. One of the best boards I’ve had was one of them.
As an aside, I really like the pointy, mellow, classic baker look. Recently I’ve noticed that more of their boards are steeper, less pointed, which makes sense, but not my favorite.

I like steeper boards actually. But darn, I was looking forward to the pointy board. My friend had one in High School and I loved how it skated.

Most of the deathwish boards listed on their site say something like ‘steeper concave for longer life’. So there’s that. Not sure if they still pointy

From what I've seen their 8.25s come in two shapes. A 14.25 wb and a 14.375. I only like the 14.25 because I can't tre flip longer than that. Not as big of a nose as FA but still bigger than normal.

Same, Blind is gradually winning my heart and I haven't bought a board to support a specific pro in forever. But their team is looking solid.

I honestly don’t find the return to the early 00 era endearing at all and my second deck was a James Craig deck (a kid on a low rider bike) - zero nostalgia for me. TJ is undeniable right now though.

Pointy tail but only slightly pointy nose. There's a real nice B16 in the current drop that is a Theotis with a Spanly drawn Baker logo but there's usually only one or two in each Baker Boys drop lately. You can pretty much always get some kind of Baker logo board in that shape though, sometimes red sometimes black. Deathwish for sure uses it too but not Birdhouse or Heroin that I know of

Ya they don’t turn stock. I’m over 220lbs and they don’t turn. You can put fairly large wheels on them, in comparison to their height if you keep them as is.

If you put in softer bushings to make them turn, good luck on wheels over 50mm.

I still really like 5.0 los, probably because that’s mostly all I skated growing up.
