Anyone tried the passport space shape?
Found one but all the dimensions I find online aren’t consistent with the wheelbase, I’ve seen 14.25, 14.375 and 14.5...

https://www.nativeskatestore.co.uk/skateboards-c7/skateboard-decks-c23/inlay-spade-shape-skateboard-deck-8-875-p51178

https://www.passportal.com/collections/decks/products/pass-port-inlay-deck-spade

Looking at all the usual places that have dimensions listed, it does seem that no one can get solid answers either, so maybe one of the places that have it in stock might be able to check, but it seems like they are roughly around 14.38 wheelbase.

what brands have the steepest kicks? Looking for something in a 8.1 and want to try something different - usually ride AH or Baker.

This place is really good with their measurements and they listed as 36cm, I also mentioned the shop I was looking to purchase from and they said 39.5cm so I’m inclined to think it’s a lot closer to 14.25. Anyway, I pulled the trigger on it, I got a good deal on it and I’ve been looking for a nice new board for a few weeks now. Will post some pics once it arrives!

I’ve been on the same shape like 15 times in a row. Think it’s time to switch it up. Was thinking of trying a girl board. (8x32) Haven’t rode one since 1998. Anyone riding one that could give some feedback?

I'm skating a chocolate right now and I like it. It's a Kenny Anderson 8.25×31.75×14 and it works good with ventures. It also has a pretty decent full nose and tapers to 8.1 in the back.

I've had a girl 93 till 9.125 egg shape, shitty wood. Complained and they sent another. Same problems. I did some digging and their wood shop is in china. Yes everyone crailtap being pressed in china. Other companies too,

From the 2020 Woodshop Thread:

Roger is ASF/Clutch. If it's Letter/Number stamp on the top between the front truck holes that's the ASF mold/size code. I think sometimes it's reversed like instead of O8 it'll say 8O but its usually letter first then number.

I also thought about f4 101s today. How do they handle rough and crusty spots? Will my feet get a massage? ^^

Considering a Black Label! Haven't skated one since late 2008, which was a used hand me down from a homie and the only Label I've ever had. Enjoyed the fuck out of it (because it was good and  because I had nothing else)! First 8.25 as I was used to 8 before that.

Anyone skated the Label lately? I'm interested in popsicles, not classic shapes, by the way.

Yes and they are awesome!

BBS wood, good shapes and although I don't care a bit about graphics compared to the feel of the board, there are some cool graphics out as well.

From the Black Label thread I posted some info which is relevant here too (sizes and wb in info on the shop site):

Maybe if anyone is trying to track some down, ask John or email him for local places that might order them, if you cannot order from the website.

Thank you!! I browsed the website earlier and the dims on the 8.5" and 8.38" (what I'm interested in) seem to match up to what I like. I thought they were BBS but hadn't checked yet. I actually enjoy most of their graphics but haven't been paying attention to them lately until I saw some recent Hassan footage and reminded me of that deck I had in late 2008. Lol

I'll go hit that thread up. Didn't see it when I looked for black label stuff on here earlier, so I'll check again.

If I want a deck, I'll probably hit up SoCal Skate or Tactics since they have some in stock that I like. Glad I can do that before going direct! John is a stand up guy, though so I wouldn't mind direct if I had to!

Found one but all the dimensions I find online aren’t consistent with the wheelbase, I’ve seen 14.25, 14.375 and 14.5...

the 9” orange eagle is 33 long and a 15” wheelbase so it’ll feel quite long and stable. Other 9” like a polar has a 14.5” wheelbase or even the heroin 14.25”ish so they’ll feel WAY different. More nimble. The 15” wheelbase is more tiring to pop over and over.

Is the concave still a lot flatter than Polar or other boards you have, or much the same?  I know that the Passport and Magenta decks always felt a touch too flat for what I liked through the middle, but wonder if things had changed post covid.

As jay_nev said, they are nicely bigger, somewhat longer and somewhat heavier to lift / turn, especially in the 9, but they are both lots of fun to skate and once you get used to a bigger board, you might not want to go back down in size at all, or wondered why you never went up that big before now.

I am much the same in height and shoe size, even though I love skating the bigger boards, including a couple of white 8.75 eagles completes and a 9.0 I currently have, there are way too many of the smaller boards available and I still like to have a bit more movement, so my go to is about the 8.38 to 8.5 size.

The white eagle at 8.75 x 32.75 with 14.6 wb (with Indy 159s) is a lot more maneuverable than the orange eagle at 9 x 33 with 15 wb (with Indy 169s) so you might be more inclined to go with the 8.75 white eagle.

the surf shape doesn’t really have deep concave anyway, but the passport does feel to be a bit deeper, by no means steep though. It’s especially noticeable around where the wheel wells would be.
