Did it! Came in one of the best looking shoe boxes ever.

The dimensions look decent, but how is the concave?

The horse pill sounds fun as hell, but I sincerely don't want to buy 10" trucks for a gimmick set-up
Great functional shape, no gimmick. Would have bought 10" trucks but settled for 9.5" AF1 77's (widest found locally). Concave is on the mellow side.

I was so stoked on that box when I got my pair. Still am, as a matter of fact. Same with the shoes, although I won't be skating them for a long time given how well my OG Lynxs hold up.

I'm seriously thinking about just biting the bullet and importing a set of the reformulated F4 97As. Stupid and unnecessary.

Crailtap crailcrapped my order so the set of Royals I ordered aren’t coming in unless I want one truck (their words, not mine

I am taking this as a sign from the universe to try something different - I have my eyes on some 5.2 Venture Lows. Are the raws good enough or is it worth trying to order some hollows? I feel like I prefer cast baseplates but a little lighter is never a bad thing IMO

They couldn’t fulfill your order because of one missing truck? The fuck? What the hell kind of operation are they even running over there anymore

Yeah…I’ve learnt not to expect too much. It feels like punching down if I dig on them further considering how operations there are probably going. In their defense, they were decent about offering a small discount on another set of trucks

Anywho I just bought a set of Venture 5.2 Low V Lights and I’m stoked to give these a run. Never tried Ventures before

How do these fit compared to the Lynx og?

How do these fit compared to the Lynx og?

For me the Shanahans are a little more snug than the OG, I'm guessing due to the insole. Size 12 fits me perfectly in OG Lynxs, the JS1s in 12 are just a tad small for me. I would've gotten a 12.5 if they'd had that size available, but I can make the 12 work.

Edit: I should add that I love that Shanahan shoe. Quality-wise I'd say it's a cut above the OG Lynx, which already is a tank of a shoe. I highly recommend getting a pair.

is this for a specific CW or does this box come with all of the JS-1s now? my launch pair came w/ the standard DC OG box.

been eyeing the new grey and green/black pairs but like someone else mentioned, my Lynx OGs and Bronze Clockers are still going strong and then I have Noc Kalynx that I wanted to skate next. I can't keep up w/ DCs drops, last couple Lynx and Shanahans have been heat but their shoes are built to last months lol

This was the "tan" colorway. Not sure if it's used for others. Got them in the same size as the Lynx OG which is half a size up from what Nike SB's usually fit me.

I don’t know whether I’m going to size down or get one as a wall hanger, but I’m going to ask my local to order me one.

There’s also this one, but it’s an 8”:

I skated Bones STF V2s back in the day until Spitfire F4s came out. It’s been about a decade and I’m feeling nostalgic and would like to try Bones again. X Formula 99a or 99a STFs for a street skater than likes both park and street spots? I like wheels that are a little softer but anything below 99a, like Dragons, would probably be overkill. Currently skating 8” Venture lows with 8-8.25” boards and like skating 52mm if it matters..

I just set up a set of x95 and they are definately hard wheels, compared to dragon 93. No weird bounce and I’ll bet they slide good on pinch tricks.
I haven’t had much time on them yet but check out that dude etang skates on YouTube he has a review.

On a set of V5 54mm right now and they feel like a quality wheel, but also unnecessary when the X97 exists. Last set of wheels I rode were the F4 93a Classics 53mm which I liked more than the Bones.

I need (want) to set up a back up board, mainly because I've been skating an 8.25 forever, and want to try an 8.5.

I'm a thunder trucks guy, hate Indy's, and don't love the look of ventures. I'm in between Lurpiv, or Aces. Those ranger green AF1 got me half mast. Can I buy another pair on Thunders, of course, but want to try something new.

Someone help me decide so I don't regret my purchase. Mostly just riding park and mini ramp. If I ride street, its a mani pad or ledge and I suck regardless

Are you currently on Thunder 148s?

If so you can try an 8.5 on those anyway and just see what the wider board feels like on those trucks, as quite a few people do run that combination as their regular setup.

In general if you are so comfortable on Thunders, or didn't want to change out anything on an existing setup and get a whole new everything, I would say getting the same Thunder trucks in 149 would be a good decision, maybe more so than trying other brands.

The Madness Support thread is full of similar posts, maybe more so after the person has tried other brand trucks, so this could save you checking in there, or help you a step in whatever direction, any which way.

yes, on 148.

Good call. But I definitely want a back up board, so going to buy another set. I've been on Thunders for over 10 years, and have been happy as a clam. Appreciate the common sense response!

i recently just tried aces on a whim and i will say they make all your tricks like 15% harder but they also make just the simple act of pushing around like 70% more fun
